New Virtua Fighter Project ‘Pre-Concept’ Gameplay Showcased in Short Teaser
SEGA, in collaboration with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, have unveiled a sneak peek at an early concept stage of their upcoming “New Virtua Fighter Project“, which they first hinted at during The Game Awards last month through a teaser trailer.
The brief 35-second clip presents “internal gameplay footage” for the upcoming sixth major installment of the Virtua Fighter series. It’s been a long wait, as this is the first main entry since VF5 was released way back in 2006 (and there have certainly been multiple updates to that game since then).
The video showcased by RGG might not depict real-time gameplay, but it certainly gives a glimpse of what’s to come. In essence, while it maintains its technical aspect, the combat appears smooth and seamless, and the environments seem richly detailed and interactive.
I’ve got a cool tip for fellow gamers! Here’s a sneak peek at an exciting fight scene between our series hero, Akira, and… yep, you guessed it, good old Akira himself! In the upcoming New Virtua Fighter Project, both characters have swapped their white headbands and traditional karate outfits for something new. Unfortunately, we don’t know when this project will be released, on which platforms, or many other details just yet. But trust me, it’s worth keeping an eye on!
