New Virtua Fighter Project and Ambitious Looking Project Century in the Works at Yakuza/Like a Dragon Studio
As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for both action-packed fighting games and immersive narrative adventures, these latest announcements from SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have sent my heart racing! The return of Virtua Fighter is like reuniting with an old friend I haven’t seen in ages. And Project Century? Well, that’s a fresh face promising to take me on a journey through Japan’s history – a time machine punch-up adventure, if you will!
SEGA, in collaboration with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the creators of the popular Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, has unveiled plans for a new installment in the Virtua Fighter game franchise. Additionally, they’re working on a fresh concept from the studio, which they’ve tentatively titled ‘Project Century’.
The first game revives SEGA’s long-dormant fighting series, while the second appears to be an epic martial arts story set in Japan in 1915. Details are scarce, but it certainly looks intriguing.
Check out the sneak preview and initial trailer of the new Virtua Fighter project, named Project Century, right here. Neither game has a confirmed release date yet, but we’re eagerly anticipating more information on both.
