New VALORANT map teased during the fifth anniversary video

In VALORANT’s fifth anniversary video, viewers spotted hints of a potential new map. Let me share some details that have been revealed so far.

To mark its five-year milestone, VALORANT has unveiled a special video showcasing significant events, memorable moments, notable players, updates for the upcoming season, and their latest battle pass. The video also offers sneak peeks of what seems to be the upcoming twelfth map in VALORANT.

New map in VALORANT

In the video, there suddenly emerges an unusual and unrecognized map, much like a glimpse from Phoenix. For those of you who are keen-eyed viewers, you might decide to pause the video and rewind it in an attempt to decipher the specifics of this new location that seems reminiscent of a fresh map within VALORANT. From fleeting glances, it appears to be similar to Ascent, with its distinctive orange bricks and antique charm.

Additionally, we notice trees adorned with orange foliage, while buildings stand out due to their frosty purple accents. From various vantage points, Phoenix approaches the location, yet there are open areas where Astra emits smoke, one serving as an entrance and another resembling Heaven on the A site, reminiscent of Haven’s celestial domain.

A new Team Deathmatch map in VALORANT?

A significant number of enthusiasts have been expressing their thoughts on platform X, suggesting that the layout could be suitable for a Team Deathmatch scenario. For those less familiar with VALORANT, Team Deathmatch is essentially a preparation mode involving teamwork to eliminate as many opponents as possible. It shares similarities with the regular Deathmatch, but with teams engaged in it instead. Yet, VALORANT has not definitively confirmed whether this design is intended for a standard map or a Team Deathmatch one. They provided some hints in the video, but left further details unspecified.

It’s no wonder a fresh map is on the horizon, given that VALORANT has only introduced two agents – Tejo and Waylay, with the latter debuting post-Masters Bangkok. It seems reasonable to assume this new map could be unveiled after Masters Toronto in June. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for more details from Riot Games within the coming weeks.
