I’m thrilled to take on the legendary character of Katniss Everdeen in the long-awaited theater adaptation of “The Hunger Games“!
Introduced in October 2023, “The Hunger Games: On Stage” adapts Suzanne Collins’s renowned 2008 novel for a stage performance. The narrative centers around Katniss from District 12 who is unexpectedly brought into the spotlight prior to the lethal yearly games.
Excitement mounts as we approach the October debut; the main character’s Instagram page officially revealed that Carragher will bring to life the inspiring protagonist, a role previously embodied by Jennifer Lawrence in the blockbuster movie franchise.

Carragher expressed great enthusiasm for playing Katniss in the clip, saying she identifies with her a lot. “She’s incredibly brave, yet she has a tender, caring side,” said Carragher. “Everyone should come watch The Hunger Games: On Stage, as it promises an experience unlike any other.

This play, under the guidance of writer Conor McPherson and director Matthew Dunster, will make its debut on October 20th at the 1,200-seat Troubadour Theatre located in Canary Wharf, London.

This tale centers around the brave heroine Katniss Everdeen as she navigates her personal journey towards enlightenment, ultimately shining as a symbol of rebellion and inspiration.
As the stage version is almost ready for its premiere, efforts are being made on the movie remake of “Sunrise on the Reaping“, Collins’s 2025 prequel novel. This film will delve into the backstory of Haymitch Abernathy and features a highly talented cast including Elle Fanning and Kieran Culkin.
The Hunger Games: On Stage premieres at London’s Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre on 20 October.
