New Terrifier 3 photos tease Art the Clown in his Santa outfit

As a hardcore horror fan and avid gamer with a deep appreciation for the art of slasher films, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of “Terrifier 3.” The first official teaser is just around the corner, and to satiate our hunger for more Art the Clown, USA Today has graced us with four tantalizing new photos.

Art the Clown is getting into the Christmas spirit as October approaches, wearing festive attire in preparation. Excitingly, this Wednesday marks the online release of the first teaser for “Terrifier 3.” In anticipation, USA Today has shared four exclusive new photos to give fans a sneak peek of the upcoming slasher film.

Alongside sharing the pictures, filmmaker Damien Leone discussed with the media what lies ahead in the third installment of “Terrifier” series and unveiled how “Terrifier 3” enriches the lore surrounding Art the Clown.

As a horror movie enthusiast who has followed the terrifying saga of Sienna Shaw and her encounters with the deranged Art the Clown, I’m thrilled to get a sneak peek at Lauren LaVera reprising her role in the upcoming installment. It’s been a while since we last saw Sienna, and based on these photos, it seems she’s still grappling with the trauma of their previous confrontation. In the second movie, she managed to put an end to Art, but as horror fans know all too well, death doesn’t always mean goodbye in this genre.

Among all the disturbing images, Victoria Heyes (previously Samantha Scaffidi) takes the cake with her chilling appearance. Known as the franchise’s initial final girl, she has endured unimaginable torment since the 2018 film. In an eerie post-credits sequence following Terrifier 2, Victoria gave birth to this new form of Art. Her condition is far from ideal.

In an interview with USA Today, Leone shared his intention of incorporating common Christmas movie themes into “Art” to observe how he’d adapt. However, the upcoming “Terrifier 3” is guaranteed to preserve the grisly, realistic special effects that have become a staple for fans of the series.

Leone describes “Terrifier 3” as significantly more ruthless and graphic in its portrayal of horror, requiring him to think outside the box when devising new methods for Art to instill fear in his hapless victims.

As evil as [Art] is, he’s equally charming and there’s something sweet about him. You almost want to be his friend.

Similar to the showings of “Terrifier 2,” it seems that “Terrifier 3” left some viewers feeling faint and ill, even causing a few to vomit in the cinema. The actor portraying Art the Clown, David Thornton Howard, reportedly came close to joining them during filming on one occasion.

In the third installment of “Terrifier,” five years have passed since the occurrences of the second film. Although Sienna may have severed the head of the original Art the Clown, as hinted in the ending scene, he returns with an intense desire for retribution. The Art we encounter in “Terrifier 3” has been taken over by a malevolent force.

During the holiday season, as Sienna and her younger brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) look forward to spending time with their loved ones, Miles County unwittingly prepares to welcome an unexpected and much more sinister visitor than old Saint Nick on Christmas Eve.
