New Superman trailer released with some people critisizing actor’s face

A fresh glimpse of the forthcoming Superman film helmed by James Gunn is out, but there’s growing discussion about the appearance of the chosen Superman actor.

A fresh trailer for the upcoming Superman movie was unveiled, during an exclusive presentation at the Chiefs versus Bills matchup, and although fans are generally thrilled with James Gunn’s interpretation of the classic tale, there’s a bit of debate regarding the appearance of Superman as depicted in the trailer.

New Superman trailer showcases the hero flying (What is wrong with his eyes?)

Today, a captivating sneak peek for the latest Superman movie left people stunned worldwide (I must admit, it appears phenomenal to me), yet several viewers pointed out an unusual aspect about the iconic cape-wearing hero’s eyes.

In one of the initial scenes from the trailer, there’s an up-close view of Superman (portrayed by David Corenswet) as he soars through the sky. However, something appears unusual – his right eye seems to be gazing off to one side, while his left eye is fixed straight ahead.

Various people are debating if it was deliberate or a mistake, yet James Gunn chose to address the issue himself.

In response to comments on social media, Gunn stated that the man’s face had no computer-generated effects, explaining that wide-angle lenses can give faces an unusual appearance when used up close.

Gunn, known for blending computer-generated imagery (CGI) seamlessly with practical effects, likewise confirmed that this specific scene was authentic as well.

“The background plate in Svalbard is 100% real as is David.”

Nothing beats seeing a director mix reality with CGI.

Highlights of new Superman teaser trailer

As a gamer, I was totally pumped when I caught a glimpse of Superman soaring through the skies in the fresh trailer that graced our screens. But here’s the kicker – they gave us another sneak peek at Nicholas Hoult transforming into the cunning Lex Luthor.

In a chilling scene, the notorious bald supervillain steps out from a modern aircraft (or helicopter) amidst the frozen tundra. Wearing stylish sunglasses and donning a thick winter garb, he projects an aura of menacing intent.

The movie is set to release on July 11, 2025, so mark your calendars.
