As a film enthusiast who’s seen more movies than I can count on both hands (and some on my feet), I must say that the news about the upcoming seasons of “Wednesday” and “Ahsoka” has me absolutely thrilled!
Over the next couple of years, you can look forward to some major updates. Kicking things off, the official Twitter account for “Wednesday” has revealed that filming for season 2 of the “Addams Family” series has been completed. To celebrate this milestone, they’ve shared a picture of Jenna Ortega looking stern.
Rest in Production. That’s a wrap on Season 2.

Two years have passed since the initial premiere of “Wednesday” on Netflix, causing quite a sensation. The portrayal of Ortega’s character, the gloomy Addams daughter, was widely admired, along with her impressive dance abilities. Will we witness a repeat of this success when “Wednesday” returns for more episodes next year? Keep an eye out for updates!
Regarding upcoming Star Wars filming projects, Dave Filoni, the main figure behind Star Wars, announced that the new movie based on The Mandalorian and Grogu, a spin-off from the hit TV show, has been completed. While talking to Extra TV, he expressed his enthusiasm about it, saying, “I’m really looking forward to it. It was fantastic working with Grogu again; he’s truly become a star! The evolution of the puppetry since season 1 is astounding…Grogu is such an enchanting little character.
The film featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to premiere in cinemas on May 22, 2026. As it stands, this movie appears to be replacing the fourth season of The Mandalorian TV series; you’ll have to decide for yourself whether that’s a positive development. Regardless, it will mark Disney’s first Star Wars film release since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
Dave Filoni assures fans that Ahsoka season 2 is coming
During the same conversation, Filoni also reassured fans about the progress on the second season of the TV series Ahsoka, featuring the character Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). “I’m deep into that too,” he shared. “I’ve been drafting it and I’m still the sole writer for it. It’s been a pleasure to work on, but it’s tough. Navigating some of these storylines has been challenging, and ensuring it delivers an engaging experience for fans…I feel quite content with it so far, we’ll see how it turns out.
Ahsoka Tano appeared for the first time in live-action on an episode of “The Mandalorian”, and then moved on to her own show. The finale of her series, “Ahsoka”, saw the return of the malevolent Grand Admiral Thrawn (played by Lars Mikkelsen), causing chaos again. It’s possible that this storyline could continue in “The Mandalorian & Grogu”, but we’ll need to wait and see.
