Today’s Overwatch 2 update addresses a few problems with Reaper, reduces the amount of Stadium Credits earned by Cassidy and Zarya, and enhances Ana’s overall performance.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled the latest patch notes for Overwatch 2! The hotfix, released on May 15, is specifically tailored for the Stadium game mode. This update focuses on adjustments, or as we gamers like to call them, tweaks. Zarya, Cassidy, and Reaper are receiving some adjustments to balance things out. On the flip side, Ana is getting a boost across the board!

Overwatch 2 May 15 patch notes
In this latest Overwatch 2 update, only Zarya among the tanks has received modifications. The earnings of Stadium Cash she gets from inflicting damage and healing have decreased by 12.5%. Developers mention that Zarya has been performing excessively well across all skill levels. Her weapon power, specifically, increases efficiently with her energy, which has enabled her to deal a large amount of damage. Consequently, the reduced Stadium Cash will slow down her scaling progression.

Overwatch 2 Stadium patch notes: Cassidy and Reaper nerfs
Similar to Zarya, our beloved cowboy’s earnings from Stadium Cash have been adjusted (or scaled back). The reduction affects both his damage and healing outputs by 12.5%. Cassidy has proven to be overly powerful and consistent in the higher tiers of Overwatch 2’s Stadium game mode. Since he also grows effectively with Weapon Power, this adjustment helps moderate the overall pace of the game.

In my gaming world, I noticed that good ol’ Reaper, my ex-boss, had some tweaks made to his gear. The attack speed on his Rotating Ruin Stadium Power dropped slightly from 5% to 4% per stack, but the maximum stacks it can have increased from 8 to 10. On the flip side, Wraith Renewal, one of Reaper’s healing abilities, got a fix, meaning he might not be as tough to take down as before. Lastly, they squashed a bug with Spirited to Slay, so now his cooldown doesn’t reset unless he gets an elimination.

Overwatch 2 Stadium buffs Ana
In the May 15 patch updates, Ana is the sole support character who underwent a hotfix. Specifically, her Home Remedy Stadium ability saw an increase in Overhealth gain. Furthermore, Venomous received damage enhancement, as well as the Scope Weapon Item and I.V. Drip Survival Item. On the flip side, the Dreamy Stadium Power took some hits, with a decrease in healing capacity and a shorter duration.

Stadium economy and timer updates
Regarding the Stadium Cash system, this update raised the maximum reward amount from 2,000 to 3,000. On the other hand, for the Stadium Armory, the waiting periods for Rounds 1 and 3 were decreased from 100 seconds to 75 seconds. In the case of Round 2, the wait time was lowered from 75 seconds to 60 seconds.
