In 2023, the initial release of Lovewatch in Overwatch 2 captured the affection of numerous players as they pursued romantic relationships with characters like Genji, Mercy, or Hanzo. But now, the new version of Lovewatch for Overwatch 2 introduces even more heroes to the mix! Here’s the latest trailer and everything we’ve learned about it so far.
New Overwatch 2 Loverwatch trailer and event
Based on recent updates, there’s an exclusive Loverwatch event and trailer specifically designed for China. The artwork’s translation from Chinese further supports this. In 2025’s Loverwatch, we see captivating artworks of Genji, Juno, Mauga, D.Va, Lifeweaver, Junker Queen, and Cassidy. It seems that these characters will have different costumes for day and night, possibly suggesting various time-of-day scenarios.
The trailer you can watch below showcases a popular tune titled “My Future” (or “爱情公寓”), hailing from the Chinese romantic comedy, “Love Apartment” (also recognized as “iPartment”). This film’s literal meaning is “Love Dormitory.
Can you play Loverwatch in 2025?
It has been pointed out that the latest Loverwatch event can only be accessed through China’s server at the moment. To gain access to it, as per Libtan90’s information, you need to go through identity verification and provide a valid phone number. Additionally, Libtan90 has posted several screenshots from Loverwatch on social media platforms.

A screenshot is included from Genji’s latest Lovewatch sequence too. The Chinese translation suggests that particular decisions cause Genji to blush and boost his fondness level. In addition, Genji brings up their past training together with Hanzo and mentions he accepts his older brother taking charge of the Shimada clan.
It seems that our Japanese interpretation of Libtan90’s remarks suggests a notion akin to reconciliation. This could be due to the fact that Genji, who was severely wounded by Hanzo in a past battle, is shown with cybernetic enhancements in the screenshot.
