As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for cinematic masterpieces, particularly heist films that keep me on the edge of my seat, the news about the potential return of the iconic Ocean’s franchise has me jumping with excitement!
Another Ocean‘s movie is reportedly moving forward with George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
As reported by Deadline, trusted sources indicate that George Clooney and Brad Pitt will once again play their characters, Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan, in a new installment of the beloved heist series.
Additionally, it’s mentioned that these two performers might be interested in leading the directorial team for Edward Berger (known for ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’), but as of now, there’s no official word on this matter.
The initial trio of the Ocean’s series, each helmed by Steven Soderbergh, kicked off with the release of Ocean’s Eleven back in 2001. This was followed by Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and finally, Ocean’s Thirteen hit the screens in 2007.
In the year 2018, a new movie called Ocean’s 8 hit the screens, boasting a stellar lineup of actresses such as Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and Rihanna.
Previously, Clooney expressed that a highly promising script existed for another Ocean’s movie, but it won’t bear the title of Ocean’s Fourteen.
He mentioned, “To be honest, I wouldn’t use that exact term, but the concept reminds me a bit of ‘Going in Style,’ the 1979 heist comedy movie directed by Martin Brest.”
A prequel movie of the style seen in “Ocean’s Eleven” is being developed, featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the parents of Danny Ocean, characters from the Barbie series.
On the other hand, Robbie, who’s involved in the production, shared back then that the movie won’t start filming right away this year.
In January, she stated, “It’s important to note that what we’re working on is still under construction. There has been some talk about it, but we haven’t launched anything yet as it’s simply not the right time.”
“I’m unsure if this will be our next step. I doubt it. The task at hand is quite complex, and there are specific events we need to coordinate with.”
