New ‘obsessive’ UK drama with Jill Halfpenny and Larry Lamb gets exciting first look ahead of release

New ‘obsessive’ UK drama The Feud has been given an exciting first look ahead of its release.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “In this series, I find myself immersed in the lives of characters played by Jill Halfpenny from ‘EastEnders’ and Larry Lamb from ‘Gavin and Stacey’. What captivates me is their seemingly perfect suburban existence, filled with close friendships that make their neighborhood a special place.

Nevertheless, the situation begins to deteriorate as Emma and John (portrayed by Halfpenny and Rupert Penry-Jones from “Spooks”) decide to build a kitchen extension.

In the initial preview (accessible through Radio Times), a hint of escalating neighborhood strife is suggested as the couple unveil their home extension. The sneak peek includes elements such as surveillance, threats of extortion, rumors of infidelity, and even potential homicide.

“Loathe thy neighbour,” the tagline adds.

Some stills from the series also tease the drama to come, which you can look at below.

The summary of “The Feud” also discloses that as opposition to the plans arises, hidden bones and perilous secrets buried deep start emerging, posing potential danger.

Threatening undertones, The Feud portrays how Emma’s ambitious desire morphs into an all-consuming obsession, suspicion, and terror. A single choice triggers a chain of events that lead to unpredictable outcomes for not only Emma but also the residents on her street.

Apart from Lamb, who portrays Emma’s business-savvy father Terry, the series also features Chris Gascoyne from “Coronation Street” as the intimidating character Lee, a builder, and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell from “Derry Girls” in the role of police officer PC Gallagher.

In a fresh rephrasing, the characters are: James Fleet from “The Vicar of Dibley” portrays an older man named Derek, while Tessa Peake-Jones, known for “Only Fools and Horses,” plays his wife Barbara. On the other hand, Amy Nuttall, a familiar face from “Downton Abbey,” takes on the role of Sonia, and Ray Fearon, who gained recognition through “Fleabag,” portrays her neighbor Alan.

The Feud is yet to confirm a release date on Channel 5, though is set to broadcast soon.
