Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden, 36, and her husband Joe, 34, recently welcomed their baby boy, Bowden. She’s been sharing updates and photos of their new life as parents on social media.
Dianne recently had a lovely visit from her mum, as well as Rina and Mark, who traveled a long distance to see her.
Taking to her social media shared some adorable snaps of them doting on their grandchild.
She shared a sweet message with a photo: ‘So happy Aussie grandparents arrived to meet baby Bowden! I’ve never experienced a love quite like this. ❤️ @mark.3802 @rinabuswell’
They had a nice time with walks and spending time together, and Dianne surprised them with a ‘Welcome Back’ banner at home.
Dianne revealed she had a difficult and lengthy labor with her son, Bowden. She’s suggested on social media that several unexpected things occurred during his birth.
Dianne revealed she was recovering in an oxygen chamber while also giving fans a peek into her life as a new mom.
The celebrity known from Strictly Come Dancing, who recently became a parent, has been sharing what it’s really like to recover after childbirth, including the challenges of nighttime feedings.
She recently clarified how to pronounce her newborn son’s unique name on Instagram, following a post about it.
The couple, who met on the show Strictly in 2018, announced the name of their baby boy: Bowden. They chose his middle names to honor both her father, Mark, and Joe’s grandfather, Richard, who passed away in 2021.
Shortly after announcing her baby’s birth, Dianne shared a heartwarming photo of her holding the newborn’s hand and explained how to pronounce the baby’s name.
She explained that the name ‘Bowden Sugg’ is pronounced ‘Bow’ like ‘How,’ not ‘Row’ – hoping that clarifies things.
Dianne shared the happy news with a photo of her sweet baby boy, cradled in her arms, and a picture of her and Joe bringing him home from the hospital.
She captioned the post: ‘Never felt a love like it. Baby Bowden Mark Richard Sugg. 16/03/26.’
Dianne announced she was expecting a baby on Instagram in September, just before the new season of Strictly Come Dancing began.
In a video accompanied by Elton John’s song “Tiny Dancer,” Dianne and Joe playfully pretended to paint a picture together, setting up an easel as if they were artists.
They held up the canvas for the camera, and it showed a simple drawing: two stick figures – one with bright red hair like Dianne’s – holding hands with a baby.
The couple added that their first child was due in 2026 and revealed they were expecting a son.
Joe captioned the clip: ‘Our little baby boy ❤️ we cannot wait to meet you.’
Dianne hinted that the birth was imminent in February in a sweet update.
She created a video montage of her and Joe’s belongings and then added miniature versions.
Dianne signaled she was prepared for the baby’s arrival, having laid out miniature outfits, shoes, and even a fun onesie inspired by ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ and then simply said, ‘Now we wait.’
She captioned the Instagram post: ‘When 2 will soon become 3, the last one!’
