The main improvement in this update is that Event and Challenge quests can now be played without an internet connection. This means you can tackle even the most difficult quests, like “Special Assignment: Slay Gogmazios,” on your own. Previously, these quests required online teamwork, and sometimes failing wasn’t due to skill but a lack of coordination. Now, players have the freedom to enjoy many events solo, offline.
You can now access almost all events at the Quest Counter, even when playing offline! This means you can go on hunts without needing to connect to a server or lobby. These Challenge and Event quests often offer unique objectives and rewards for completing specific tasks, so you’ll usually find other players trying to complete them as well. Now, by making these available offline, players who prefer solo play have an easier way to earn those special rewards.
Players Who Missed Online Event Content Will Finally Be Able To Try Monster Hunter Wilds’ Biggest Hunts
Many quests were previously unavailable to players who preferred to play solo, particularly those involving the game’s toughest monsters. A great example is the “Freedom of Solitude” quest, where players battle Arch-Tempered Arkveld – a monster considered by many to be one of the hardest in the game. Originally, players could only access this quest online during a limited-time event. However, this update now lets players fight AT Arkveld offline, giving them a chance to experience a quest they might have otherwise missed.
Now, 25 events and challenges are accessible to all players, making hunts fair for everyone. With the upcoming Ascendance expansion, players who prefer to play offline will be able to finish all the original game’s content. Even if you plan to play online later, solo players can still earn all the rewards, items, and benefits from these events and challenges before Ascendance is released.
Playing alone can often be quicker than playing online with others, because monsters have more health when you hunt them in a group. Players can now efficiently defeat tough monsters like AT Arkveld and Gogmazios on their own, allowing them to farm for rare items faster than if they were forced to play with others. This helps players obtain powerful gear and weapons, getting them ready for the challenging new enemies coming in the Ascendance expansion – including the confirmed Master Rank content.
Players can now prepare for the next big update much more effectively thanks to solo play and quests you can do without an internet connection.
