Many fans love the immersive, single-player experience that The Elder Scrolls games offer. Despite their flaws, Bethesda’s RPGs are known for their captivating stories. However, sometimes players want to share that experience with friends. While The Elder Scrolls games (except Elder Scrolls Online) don’t usually allow for multiplayer, mods can change that. A new mod is currently in development for Oblivion Remastered that will add this feature.
Many mods have already tried to add multiplayer to the traditionally single-player Elder Scrolls games. Skyrim Together is a well-known example that lets players experience Skyrim with friends, and it’s generally considered a good way to play. Bringing a similar feature to Oblivion Remastered would be fantastic for fans while they wait for Elder Scrolls 6. The Oblivion Multiplayer mod aims to do just that.
Team Behind WukongMP Bringing Multiplayer to Oblivion Remastered & More

Ready Code, the developers behind this new multiplayer experience for Oblivion, have a history of making single-player games playable with others. They’ve built a platform called ReadyM to simplify the process of adding cooperative play to existing games. Their first big project using this platform was WukongMP, a mod that allows players to enjoy Black Myth: Wukong in multiplayer. Now, they’re applying the same approach to create a multiplayer mod for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.
The Ready Code team recently shared an early look at their project on the Oblivion Remastered subreddit. The short trailer gives players a glimpse of what it will be like to explore Cyrodiil with friends in OblivionMP, which is expected to be released later this year. While still under development, if their previous success with WukongMP is anything to go by, this could be fantastic news for Elder Scrolls fans.

ReadyM, and specifically Oblivion MP, aims to simplify the process of creating and enjoying custom multiplayer experiences within single-player games. The idea is to make modding for multiplayer a little more accessible for both creators and players.
Considering how much fans love modifying Elder Scrolls games, it’s a natural step for ReadyM to work on Oblivion Remastered. The creators of OblivionMP envision it as being similar to Minecraft community servers, but taking place in the world of Oblivion. Players can expect to experience multiplayer in Oblivion sometime in the second quarter of this year, allowing them to explore Cyrodiil with their friends.
I’ve been seeing a lot of hype around mods like Skyrim Together, and honestly, it’s awesome that people are finding ways to play Elder Scrolls games with their friends. So, when I heard about Oblivion MP, a mod aiming to do the same for Oblivion, I got really excited! It looks like a cool way to revisit Tamriel with others. The downside? It’s only for PC players, unfortunately. If you’re on console like me, Elder Scrolls Online is still the best way to get that multiplayer Elder Scrolls fix for now.
