Sky has announced a “bold” new legal thriller with an even bolder title: WAR.
In this captivating production, the main characters are portrayed by Dominic West (known for his roles in “The Wire” and “The Crown”) as Morgan Henderson, a tech magnate, and Sienna Miller as Carla Duval, an internationally acclaimed actress, who used to be Morgan’s wife. The plot revolves around them amidst their complex past relationship.
As an enthusiastic spectator, I found myself drawn into a captivating legal saga, ignited by a high-profile divorce case that stirred quite the buzz. Two formidable law firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, stood poised to engage in an intense battle, each harboring a firm belief in their impending victory as they squared off against each other.

Yet, events take a turn for the worse, leading to startling disclosures being broadcasted. Just how much farther will each party push themselves in their pursuit of victory?
Besides West and Miller, the cast also features Phoebe Fox as Serena, a partner at Taylor & Byrne, and James McArdle as Nicholas, another partner.
Joining them are Nina Sosanya (as Beatrice ‘Queen Bea’ Ubosi) and Pip Torrens (as St John Smallwood), who play rivals at Cathcarts. In addition, Archie Renaux takes on the role of Johnny, a driven lawyer.

In the background, George Kay – known for creating and overseeing shows like Lupin and The Long Shadow – takes on the role of creator/showrunner, while Ben Taylor, who has previously directed series such as Sex Education and Catastrophe, steps up as the director.
Already, Sky and co-producer HBO have commissioned two seasons for the series. Yet, the storyline will encompass just the first season since WAR is planned to adopt an anthology structure.

Kay expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Sky and HBO, both known for daring, visionary narrative, as well as our exceptionally talented crew.
The show War is a captivating legal drama filled with deceit, scandals, unexpected turns, and treachery. It’s the type of television series that inspired me to venture into writing for television.
Meghan Lyvers, Sky’s executive director for original scripted programming, noted that the show takes on ideas about power, self-image, and achievement, while Francesca Orsi, head of HBO’s drama series and films, described it as a clever blend of realism and satire.
WAR doesn’t currently have a release window yet, but will air on Sky in the UK and HBO in the US.
