Sky has released first-look images of The Iris Affair, a new thriller from Luther boss Neil Cross.
The upcoming eight-episode series features actors like Tom Hollander from “The White Lotus” season 2 and “The Night Manager,” as well as Niamh Algar, known for “Mary & George” and “The Virtues.”
Or simply:
The upcoming eight-part series boasts the talents of Tom Hollander (“The White Lotus” S2, “The Night Manager”) and Niamh Algar (“Mary & George,” “The Virtues”).
Both versions convey the same information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
In the photos, our primary characters are seen enjoying lunch alfresco before the Basilica di Santa Croce in Firenze, while Hollander’s persona makes an entrance via helicopter, and Algar can be spotted concealed near an external wooden hut.
What to Read Next
In simpler terms, the official summary reveals more about the storyline, stating that “The Iris Affair” is an intense, film-like chase mystery where two exceptionally intelligent individuals engage in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game of hide-and-seek throughout Italy.
When the enigmatic genius Iris Nixon (Algar) solves a series of intricate online riddles, she is guided to a piazza in Florence. There, she encounters charming businessman Cameron Beck (Hollander), who extends an invitation for her to join his team to unveil a highly classified technological treasure.
Intrigued by it, she agrees, but once Iris realizes its potentially harmful nature, she secretly takes the journal with the device’s activation code and disappears.
Here’s what comes next: A tireless chase unfolds, starting from a secluded cabin in Sardinia and moving on to the crowded thoroughfares of Rome, as Cameron embarks on a mission to locate Iris. The stakes are extremely high, trust is precarious, and the consequence of defeat could be disastrous.
In addition to Hollander and Algar, the series also features actors like Kristofer Hivju from “Game of Thrones,” Harry Lloyd known for his work in “Doctor Who,” Sacha Dhawan who appeared in “Another Simple Favor,” and Lorenzo De Moor, among others.
In the meantime, it was Terry McDonough from “Breaking Bad”/ “Better Call Saul” and Sarah O’Gorman of “The Witcher” who took on the role of directors.
Previously hinted that the show would introduce a main character unlike any we’ve encountered on television before.
The Iris Affair will come to Sky and NOW later this year in the UK and Ireland.
