The special will begin streaming on April 5th at 3 p.m. Eastern Time / noon Pacific Time, and will also be shown on HBO that same day at 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Time. This preview comes before the series premieres later this year on Christmas.

It’s been 25 years since audiences first entered the magical world of Hogwarts, and now a special offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of HBO’s new Harry Potter series. This new life also brings danger, as Harry must confront a threat from his past.

The new HBO Max series is created and overseen by Francesca Gardiner, drawing from J.K. Rowling’s popular books. Mark Mylod directs multiple episodes and also serves as an executive producer, working alongside Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman are all executive producers on the show. Plans are for the series to run for ten seasons, closely following the storylines of the original books.
