New “fun, good-looking romcom” series breaks into Netflix’s top 10: “Just what people need”
Netflix’s new Indian romcom The Royals has broken into the top 10 in the UK.
The eight-part show chronicles the struggles of a royal family as they strive to revive their faltering finances by converting their palace into an upscale hotel.
Following the release of all its episodes last Friday (9th May), the program now ranks eighth among the top ten most popular Netflix series in the United Kingdom.

Currently, the program is rated at 33% on Rotten Tomatoes, garnering mostly negative reviews from Indian critics.
Interestingly, the American publication Decider had a much more positive response to the series.
The Royals is an enjoyable and visually appealing romantic comedy that doesn’t require much mental effort from viewers, which might be exactly what many are looking for at the moment.
The show featured Zeenat Aman prominently, earning her the title of standout performer due to her portrayal of Maji Saheba, the family matriarch, who appeared to casually cultivate marijuana in the courtyard of a royal palace as if it were an ordinary task.
This week, Netflix has been unveiling numerous thrilling updates, among them the confirmation of a new season for the recently debuted series, “The Four Seasons.
Fan-loved series “Bridgerton” released a sneak peek for its fourth season and also announced that seasons five and six will be produced as well.
This week, it was revealed that Dan Levy, the mind behind “Schitt’s Creek,” is also developing a fresh crime series for the streaming service. He has labeled it as an “extraordinarily messy family saga.
