New Frankenstein movie delayed until 2026 as Julia Garner horror moves up release date
The much-anticipated musical adaptation titled “The Bride,” reminiscent of Frankenstein, has had its premiere date rescheduled to the year 2026.
The forthcoming movie that blends music and monsters is a modern take on the 1935 film “Bride of Frankenstein,” originally based on Mary Shelley’s timeless novel from 1818, which chronicles the tale of the scientist in the title who dabbles with nature to construct a being.
In this movie, directed by Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale portrays the monster while Jessie Buckley plays his bride. The story unfolds in 1930s Chicago, where a deceased woman is resurrected during a period of significant societal transformation.

Due to a delay in “The Bride” movie’s release, Julia Garner’s upcoming film “Weapons” has moved ahead by more than five months. The new release date for “Weapons” is now August 8, instead of its original planned release in January 2026.
The movie, hailing from director Zach Cregger of “Barbarian” fame, weaves multiple tales within a tight-knit Florida town, that’s thrown into turmoil following the mysterious vanishing of a cluster of schoolchildren during the deepest hours of the night.
In addition to exploring themes such as “police corruption, generational trauma, witchcraft, blood rituals, and religious abuse,” the film Weapons also features an impressive cast including Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Amy Madigan, Austin Abrams, and June Diane Raphael.
