New Found Glory rocker Chad Gilbert, 45, undergoes surgery to remove three brain tumours as he battles rare adrenal cancer

Chad Gilbert, from the band New Found Glory, recently had surgery to remove three brain tumors while undergoing treatment for adrenal cancer.

The 45-year-old musician shared that he had trouble controlling his left hand while performing at a concert in Nashville on February 20th.

Chad was then rushed to hospital by medics three days later when he began stumbling and falling.

He shared a detailed statement and photos from the hospital, explaining that on February 20th, while performing in Nashville, he had difficulty controlling the movement of his left hand.

Over a period of time, I noticed my left leg becoming increasingly weak, causing me to stumble and fall. Eventually, on the 23rd, I went to the emergency room and a CT scan revealed three new tumors in my brain.

I had brain surgery on February 27th and have been recovering in the hospital ever since. I was able to move my left hand again right away.

My radiation oncologist reassured me, saying this wasn’t a life-threatening situation, but rather the start of a new phase in my life.

Chad ended his message by expressing gratitude to his family and friends for helping him through his recovery. He shared that while it hasn’t been easy, he’s now feeling better and steadily regaining his strength.

I’m so grateful for all the support everyone has shown me and my family during this difficult time. I’m still limited in my phone use and have a lot of messages to get through, but I appreciate all the check-ins.

In 2021, Chad received a cancer diagnosis after his wife, Lisa Cimorelli, discovered him unresponsive in bed.

It was such a shock when Chad was suddenly rushed to the hospital. The doctors quickly figured out what was wrong – he had a pretty large tumor on his adrenal gland, and unfortunately, it had already spread to his liver. It’s been incredibly difficult news, and we’re all just trying to stay positive and support him through this.

Doctors successfully removed the cancerous growth, along with part of his liver and his gallbladder, and he was given a clean bill of health the next month.

Unfortunately, the musician’s rare cancer came back in August 2022, this time affecting his spine. He then had to have a difficult six-hour surgery.

The following year, medics discovered nodules in his lungs and he received chemotherapy.

After Chad shared his recent health update, fans sent him an outpouring of support. One fan wrote, ‘We love you Chad! Keep fighting. Your music and positive attitude make the world a better place.’

Chad and Hayley Williams, the lead singer of Paramore, began dating in 2008 and married in 2016. They were previously married to each other.

Unfortunately, their marriage didn’t last long. They separated after just one year and were officially divorced a few months after that.

Hayley has spoken about her struggle with depression after the divorce and how she received care in a hospital setting.

‘I had to get therapy. I was having a lot of bad dreams,’ she said.

Hayley explained that she’d been having vivid, recurring dreams about water, similar to ones she experienced as a child. These dreams became frequent and intense, eventually leading to panic attacks and a trip to the hospital.
