Fantastic Four: First Steps concept art provides a fresh look at Galactus

A new perspective of the cosmic antagonist, Galactus, from the Fantastic Four’s initial journey, has surfaced on social media platforms. The latest images hint at Galactus menacing New York City, however, with a significantly more ominous backdrop.

Jackson Sze, the visual development supervisor, posted pictures on his Instagram with the caption, “Galactus has arrived! I had a blast creating this keyframe, recreating the chaos of titans stomping cities. It was quite intriguing experimenting with various sizes for him.

In these images, Galactus is portrayed as an ominous figure advancing towards Franklin Richards in a grimy New York City. As he progresses, Galactus appears to be destroying a building in his path, leaving it ablaze behind him. However, in the movie adaptation, Galactus chose a sunny day for his attack on New York instead of the darker setting depicted here.

Ralph Ineson took on the character of Galactus in the superhero film. When discussing his preparation for the role with GQ, Ineson explained, “I needed to figure out how I could perform my duty now, which is to make myself believe that I am a towering one-thousand-foot giant, an ancient 14-billion-year-old cosmic entity feeding on worlds.

Additionally, Ineson expressed his amazement by saying, “I was taken aback by the spectacle of portraying Galactus. I had anticipated they would do a good job, but seeing the character on screen for the first time, with its grandeur and scale, was truly remarkable. The way they filmed me to make it appear so massive was simply astounding.
