A fresh piece of concept art has unveiled an unexpected influence from Star Wars on one pivotal Fantastic Four location. Recently, followers got a glimpse into the MCU’s rendition of Marvel’s founding team. Along with this, director Matt Shakman provided a comics-true depiction of legendary Marvel villain Galactus and his destructive spacecraft, the Taa II.

On his personal Instagram, Thomas Ducrest (the concept artist for Fantastic Four: First Steps) recently unveiled some fresh artwork related to the movie. Among other things, he teased a notable figure from science fiction films.
Ducrest described putting considerable effort into adding details that made the Taa II ship resemble the ominous Death Star-esque features.
Among the designs I worked on for ‘Fantastic Four’, under the guidance of the talented Kasra Farahani, was the spacecraft Galactus employs to reach Earth! Although its screen time is limited in the film, significant energy was invested in incorporating intricate details reminiscent of the Death Star while ensuring a striking silhouette.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that “Fantastic Four: First Steps” is now unspooling in cinemas across the globe! Hailing from the talented director Matt Shakman, who previously dazzled us with “WandaVision”, this latest Marvel Cinematic Universe spectacle unfolds within an intriguing blend of retro-futuristic settings. In this alternate universe, our beloved Fantastic Four band together to confront a looming menace: the enigmatic Galactus, who is poised to devour their Earth version!
The film garnered mostly favorable feedback from viewers and accumulated an impressive $515 million at the worldwide box office. Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as its main crew, Ralph Ineson portrayed Galactus in the movie.
Fantastic Four’s Star Wars Inspiration Makes Complete Sense
Fans believed that the Death Star, with its upcoming LEGO set, might have served as a partial model for Galactus’ ship in the Fantastic Four series. However, hearing this directly from one of its designers will add a lot of credibility to their assumption for fans.

He delved into the adjustment of the film’s screen proportion and various other significant techniques the team planned to employ in order to make the antagonist appear massive and intimidating.
It’s logical to assume that since both the Death Star and the Taa II were created with the common purpose of planetary annihilation, their massive structures would play a significant role in defining the characters they are associated with.
