Walton Goggins‘ Ghoul from the Prime Video series is about to become video game canon.
According to reports, David Goggins’ famous character, the Ghoul-previously known as Cooper Howard-is set to appear in a video game for the first time as part of new downloadable content for Fallout 76. Called “Burning Springs,” this upcoming DLC will include Goggins’ portrayal of the Ghoul, as well as many other elements taken directly from the popular Prime Video live-action series. While “Burning Springs” doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, it’s anticipated to launch around December, coinciding with the premiere of Season 2 of Prime Video’s Fallout on December 17.
According to developer Bethesda Softworks, Fallout 76: Burning Springs is the game’s biggest update since 2020. This free update lets all Fallout 76 players explore a new region based on post-nuclear Ohio. You’ll encounter new characters and groups, and take on brand new Bounty Hunting missions. The missions are hosted by Walton Goggins, who plays The Ghoul, a character also featured in the Fallout television series on Prime Video. Bethesda Games Studios will share more information during their “Fallout Day” presentation on October 23.
The game received some strongly negative feedback from both reviewers and gamers. Fallout 76, the first multiplayer title from Bethesda Game Studios, presents a fresh take on the familiar Fallout universe. This action RPG is set in West Virginia and challenges players to discover its expansive open world, build and manage their own settlements, and complete quests while cooperating with-or battling against-other players online.
When Fallout 76 first launched, it received a lot of criticism because of many technical issues, a lack of characters you could interact with, and an overall feeling that the game lacked direction. However, expansions like Wastelanders have allowed it to keep a solid player base and continue for almost ten years. With the release of the Prime Video series, interest in Fallout 76 increased significantly, making this collaboration a good match.
Prime Video’s Fallout Series Has Big Things Ahead
Prime Video’s Fallout series launched in 2024 and quickly gained praise as one of the best video game adaptations ever made. Currently, Fallout fans are excitedly anticipating the premiere of Season 2 on December 17th. The new season will follow the show’s main characters as they arrive in the unexpectedly bright city of New Vegas. , “Now that viewers are familiar with the world, this story really expands on everything [in Season 2].”
Fallout is currently available for streaming on Prime Video. Season 2 premieres on December 17.
