Upcoming British thriller series The Rumour has confirmed a release date for next month.
In the latest series on Channel 5, the renowned actress Rachel Shenton (from All Creatures Great and Small) plays a character that causes unease and doubt by spreading an alarming rumor.
The premier of the series is officially set for this coming Wednesday, September 10th, airing at 9pm on the designated channel. The inaugural episode will be followed by additional episodes over the subsequent two nights, as reported by Radio Times.

The story, titled “The Rumour, centers around the character Joanna. She stumbles upon a chilling rumor that suggests a child murderer is living among them undetected. Seizing an opportunity to connect with other local mothers, she shares this information unwittingly, which sets off a chain reaction of fear and uncertainty.
With murmurs getting more intense and anxiety escalating, Joanna finds herself caught up in a perilous whirlwind of mysteries and accusations,” the summary implies.

Derived from the novel penned by Lesley Kara, this series leaves you in suspense right up until the very last page, as stated by Paula Hawkins, author of “The Girl on the Train. It also features an exceptionally talented ensemble cast, as acknowledged by Variety.
They encompass Emily Atack (from Rivals), Joanne Whalley (of Wolf Hall), Samuel Anderson (Amandaland), Carryl Thomas (Silo), Ellie Haddington (Enola Holmes), Lucy Speed (Unforgotten), and Liza Sadovy (A Real Pain).

Giula Sandler (author of “The House Across the Street”) penned the series, with direction by Richard Clark, known for his work on “Doctor Who”.
Previously, Shenton expressed her enthusiasm about being part of the show: “I’m absolutely thrilled to portray Joanna. The Rumour is a tale about a woman who is falling apart as she tirelessly seeks the truth. She’s quite relatable and the cast is fantastic. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with so many women.
The Rumour will premiere on Channel 5 on Wednesday, 10 September at 9pm.
