New Balance is making a big move in basketball with its new P400 Low shoe, designed for quick and energetic players. Endorsed by rising star Cameron Brink, the shoe is lightweight and low-cut to maximize speed and agility without sacrificing support, keeping players comfortable from the start to the finish of the game.
The newest P400 Low model from New Balance is designed for unrestricted movement. It features a lower cut around the ankle for greater flexibility, while New Balance’s N-Lock technology keeps your foot secure and prevents slipping. This provides a stable, locked-down feel, even during quick cuts and side-to-side motions.
So, New Balance designed the P400 Low for players like me – we need to be quick and agile, but still feel locked in and supported. Kevin Trotman, one of the product managers, explained that the lower cut of the shoe, combined with their N-Lock tech, gives you that perfect balance of freedom to move and solid support all game long. Basically, it lets me cut and change direction without feeling wobbly!
This shoe has been updated with new technology to make it more responsive. It features a redesigned plate that helps you move quickly and smoothly on the court, and added support to keep you stable during side-to-side movements. For players who want to feel connected to the court, the shoe’s design keeps you closer to the ground. The upper is made with a flexible yet durable material that provides both comfort and protection during games.
The new P400 Low shoe is being released at the same time as a New Balance campaign featuring basketball star Brink. The “Quiet Noise” campaign showcases the hard work, practice, and dedication it takes to be a top athlete. It also stars other New Balance athletes like Tyrese Maxey, Cooper Flagg, Darius Garland, Aaliyah Crump, and Sienna Betts.
As a basketball shoe fan, I’m really excited about the P400 Low! It looks like it’ll be a great option for any player – whether you’re a quick guard or a more all-around forward – especially during the warmer months. It’s designed to be lightweight, which is awesome. I heard it’s dropping in July 2026, and you’ll be able to grab a pair online and at some basketball stores around the world for $120, which seems like a pretty good price.
