A video released by TMZ showed Ritchson punching Taylor while he was on the ground, then leaving with what appeared to be his two children and a bicycle.
Taylor said he told Ritchson to stop a certain behavior while Ritchson was biking through the neighborhood, but Taylor also admitted to making an offensive gesture towards Ritchson, which Ritchson reciprocated. Although people disagreed about who started the problem, the incident threatened Ritchson’s career, as public disputes can be very damaging to celebrities seen as instigators. Fortunately, it seems the situation has now been resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, police have determined that Alan Ritchson, the star of Reacher, was acting in self-defense during an incident with his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor. The investigation has been closed and no charges will be filed. This follows a claim by Taylor that Ritchson’s motorcycle was too loud. Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin released a statement regarding the situation.
Following a review of video and witness accounts, authorities have decided not to file criminal charges against Mr. Ritchson. Investigators determined his actions were self-defense. While they initially considered a charge of reckless endangerment, Mr. Ritchson opted not to press charges himself. With the District Attorney’s approval, the case is now closed and will not be investigated further.

Although it’s regrettable Ritchson was involved in the dispute, many will be glad to hear he won’t face any criminal charges. With the matter now settled, he’s returning to his work on several upcoming projects.

The story kicks off with a dangerous plot that begins on a New York City subway, where Reacher discovers a mystery surrounding the death of a Pentagon employee. This leads him on a fast-paced adventure involving hidden military secrets.

Alan Ritchson is also potentially involved in a spin-off of his show Reacher, called Neagley, which will center around Maria Sten’s character.
