A new Marvel superhero series on Disney+ is quickly becoming a hit, topping streaming charts after the release of its second season. The first season, which premiered last year, was highly praised by critics and fans for its compelling story and well-developed characters. Production is already underway on a third season, expected to arrive next year.
Daredevil: Born Again is leading the streaming battle on Disney+
As of March 26, 2026, the adult-focused series Daredevil: Born Again is the most popular show on Disney+ globally, according to data from FlixPatrol. The second season became available on the streaming service just two days prior.
As a total movie and TV buff, I have to say this show just blows everything else out of the water. I’m talking about the entire top 10! Shows like Love Story, Paradise, High Potential, Lucky Luke, 011CE: New Generation, Rooster Fighter, Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy, and even Desperate Housewives all fall behind – it’s a clear winner for me.
Critics generally liked the second season more than the first, praising its improved story and overall feel. It’s received high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 95% approval rating from critics and a strong 94% rating from viewers – a significant increase from the 87% and 78% ratings of the first season.
The second season of the show will have eight episodes, released one per week, with the final episode airing on May 5, 2026. It continues the story from season one, focusing on the escalating conflict between Matt Murdock (Daredevil) and Wilson Fisk (Kingpin). Matt and Karen Page are forming a team to fight Fisk’s task force, which is designed to stop vigilantes. At the same time, Fisk gets involved with Mr. Charles, a powerful figure who works for the CIA.
Dario Scardapane developed the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again alongside Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and he’s also overseeing the show as showrunner. The series will feature returning actors including Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Margarita Levieva, Tony Dalton, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, Arty Froushan, Genneya Walton, Clark Johnson, Zabryna Guevara, Ayelet Zurer, Elden Henson, and Wilson Bethel.
The cast is growing with the addition of Matthew Lillard and Krysten Ritter. Ritter will be returning as Jessica Jones, a role she previously played in the Netflix series Jessica Jones and The Defenders, which are now available on Disney+.
