New Addition: Billy Campbell cast in upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of slasher movies, I can say that the cast announcement for the reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has me more than just a little excited! With Billy Campbell joining the crew and Freddie Prinze Jr. returning to his role, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic reunion of talent.

The cast for the reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is shaping up nicely. It was recently announced that Billy Campbell, a Golden Globe Award nominee known for his roles in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and “Cardinal”, has joined the cast in an unspecified role. I’m curious to find out who he might be portraying in this horror series.

Campbell has been added to an expanding group of actors who have previously been revealed as part of the cast, including Madelyn Cline from ‘Outer Banks’ and ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’, Sarah Pidgeon from ‘Lazareth’ and ‘The Wilds’, Tyriq Withers from ‘The Game’ and ‘Tell Me Lies’, as well as Jonah Haur-King from ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’.

It’s been revealed that Freddie Prinze Jr. has officially signed on to reprise his character, Ray Bronson, from the original movie and its 1998 sequel in an upcoming production. There are discussions ongoing for Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brandy Norwood to come back as Julie James and Karla Wilson respectively.

Excitedly speaking, it’s buzzing around that Chase Sui Wonders could be joining the cast for the upcoming Sony movie! The role she might play is still under wraps, though. Interestingly, Camila Mendes (of Riverdale and Do Revenge fame) was initially on board, but had to step down due to scheduling issues.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (of ‘Do Revenge’ and ‘Someone Great’) is set to direct the upcoming reboot of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, also known as a continuation in the series. She co-wrote the script for this project with Sam Lansky. Previously, Leah McKendrick (known for ‘Scrambled’ and ‘M.F.A’) had penned the original draft. Regrettably, specifics about the plot are currently under wraps. Nevertheless, we have a confirmed release date for this chilling slasher, which will arrive in theaters on July 18, 2025.

Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiast! I’ve been keeping busy with my latest roles on TV – you might have caught me as Mr. & Mrs. Smith or Cardinal. If those don’t ring a bell, perhaps you remember me from Modus, Helix, The Killing, The 4400, The O.C., Once and Again, or even Dynasty. As for films, I’ve starred in classics like Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Enough, and Troll. Coming up next, you can catch me in the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer, and an upcoming thriller called Trust. Keep your eyes peeled!
