New action thriller tops UK streaming chart despite 0% Rotten Tomatoes rating
Despite receiving harsh critiques from film critics, Sylvester Stallone’s latest action flick, “Armor,” has gained popularity as a streaming success.
Under the guidance of director Justin Routt, the movie primarily focuses on a pair of father and son, both employees at an armored car firm, as they’re assigned to move a questionable parcel.
Soon, the duo finds themselves cornered by a band of robbers on a remote country bridge, requiring them to employ cunning and brute force to escape.

Armor made its debut with a disappointing 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after its cinematic premiere in December of last year, and it has yet to surpass that mark since then.
On the other hand, it appears to have struck a chord with viewers, as it has climbed high in the rankings and emerged as the most popular film on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom and Ireland during the last seven days.
Armor was called an “unimaginative programmer” by Variety, and Loud and Clear labeled it as a “monotonous, aimless thriller.
Although advertised as a high-octane action-thriller, the pace of “Armor” is remarkably sluggish and cumbersome, much like its namesake vehicle. In fact, there’s scarcely any action in this film at all, according to Collider.
Initially, Sylvester Stallone was slated to appear in the upcoming remake of his 1993 action hit “Cliffhanger.” However, in October, it was officially announced that the movie underwent a total revamp, and Lily James will now take over Stallone’s role.
James will play the main character, working alongside Pierce Brosnan, Nell Tiger Free, Franz Rogowski, Shubham Saraf, Assaad Bouab, Suzy Bemba, and Bruno Gouery in this production.
In a new adaptation, Brosnan takes on the role of an experienced mountain climber. During a father-daughter getaway, they encounter a group of abductors. While the father is targeted, their daughter Naomi (James) observes the attack and manages to flee.
Tormented by the memory of a previous mountaineering mishap, Naomi finds herself compelled to face her anxieties and battle for life itself in an effort to protect her loved ones.
Armor is available to stream now on Prime Video.
