Netflix has announced the lengths of the last four episodes of Stranger Things, and viewers might want to make some time to watch them. The final part of Season 5 starts later this week. The first four episodes were released on November 26, 2025, just before Thanksgiving, and the remaining episodes will air during the holidays: three on Christmas Day and the very last episode on New Year’s Eve.
Ross Duffer shared the titles and lengths of the last four episodes of Stranger Things on his Instagram account.
- Episode 5 “Shock Jock” – One hour and eight minutes (68 minutes)
- Episode 6 “Escape from Camazotz” – One hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes)
- Episode 7 “The Bridge” – One hour and six minutes (66 minutes)
- Episode 8 “The Rightside Up” – Two hours and eight minutes (128 minutes)
As a big fan of Stranger Things, I was settling in for what felt like a truly epic finale, and it was long – though not the longest episode the show’s ever done! The Season 4 finale, ‘Piggyback,’ clocked in at two hours and twenty-eight minutes. But honestly, both the Season 4 and Season 5 finales felt like full-length movies. It’s kind of wild to think they’re longer than films I love like The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Moonlight, and even the original Star Wars!
‘Stranger Things’ Closes Out 2025 With a Bang

Because the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5 is extra long, Netflix is releasing it in select movie theaters on New Year’s Eve. Over 500 theaters across the U.S. and Canada will show the episode starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Time/8 p.m. Eastern Time on December 31st – the same time it becomes available to stream on Netflix worldwide. The theatrical release will continue through January 1st, 2026.
Stranger Things first appeared on Netflix on July 15, 2016, and quickly became a huge hit worldwide. The second season arrived in October 2017, followed by the third on July 4, 2019. Season 4 was released in two parts – the first on May 27, 2022, and the second on July 1, 2022. Fans have been waiting a long time for Season 5, especially considering it’s been three years since the last season ended and nine years since the show originally premiered.
