Agatha Christie immediately captivates readers and viewers, inviting them to solve mysteries alongside her characters. As the master of murder mysteries, her work has influenced many popular shows, including the British crime dramas Death in Paradise and The Marlow Murder Club, and helped shape the entire genre of cozy crime fiction.
Okay, so this game’s world is full of over-the-top drama and crazy plot twists, and it always revolves around some super-smart detective who’ll do anything to solve the mystery. Honestly, if you’re a fan of shows like Miss Marple or Death Valley, you might think you know what’s coming with Netflix’s new Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials… but trust me, you’d be totally off base.
A murder takes place in a glamorous, modern setting when Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent (Mia McKenna-Bruce) finds a body while hosting a party at her family’s country house. However, Seven Dials isn’t a cozy, lighthearted mystery; it’s something much darker.
What to Read Next
Okay, so a lot of shows try to keep things pretty breezy, but this one? It really gets into the grit. That’s what hooked me – I actually felt the weight of the investigation, like things were genuinely awful and the consequences were huge. It’s way more intense and makes you really care about what happens.
McKenna Bruce, who plays Bundle, is the driving force of the show, bringing the same energy and confidence to her performance as her character. Lady Eileen is both spirited and impulsive, with a determined attitude that perfectly suits the part. She has a quiet charm that never feels overdone, making her funny moments feel natural and genuine.

The compelling lead in Bundle is enhanced by a vibrant cast of supporting characters, including Martin Freeman as the enigmatic Battle, and Corey Mylchreest as Gerry Wade. Mylchreest subtly brings an unexpected charm to his role, making him quietly captivating.
Helena Bonham Carter naturally fits the role of Lady Caterham, as she often plays quirky and unusual characters. Caterham is refreshingly honest, but also carries a hint of sadness, creating a character who is both charming and a little heartbreaking.

The central mystery of the show isn’t overly complicated. Viewers who are familiar with cozy crime dramas will likely figure out the twists before they’re revealed. While this makes the ending a little predictable, the show is still entertaining overall.
With only three episodes, Seven Dials moves quickly and gets right to the story. While it’s nice that the story isn’t drawn out, you might wish you could spend a bit more time exploring Bundle’s interesting world.
Luckily, the season ends on a dramatic cliffhanger, which sets things up perfectly for another season.
