The second season of Netflix’s One Piece will feature several new characters with unique abilities gained from the Devil Fruit. The live-action series, which premiered in 2023, brought Eiichiro Oda’s popular One Piece manga and anime to life. The show follows Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, a young pirate captain who gained stretchy powers after eating the mysterious Devil Fruit.
In the world of One Piece, Devil Fruits are mysterious fruits that give anyone who eats them special abilities. For example, Luffy can stretch his body like rubber, and Buggy the Clown can separate his body into pieces thanks to eating a Devil Fruit.
As the story of One Piece unfolds, more and more characters gain the powers of Devil Fruits. It seems like almost every new ally and enemy we meet has their own special ability thanks to these mysterious fruits.
The second season of Netflix’s One Piece will adapt some of the most popular story arcs from the original manga and anime. This new season will also introduce several characters with unique powers granted by Devil Fruits. (You can find more details about the arcs covered in Season 2 here.)

Tony Tony Chopper (Mikaela Hoover)

A popular character, Tony Tony Chopper, will be joining the cast of One Piece in Season 2. This unique character is a reindeer who gained the ability to transform into a human-reindeer hybrid after eating a special Devil Fruit.
Okay, so I’m really excited about the live-action One Piece! One of my favorite characters, Tony Tony Chopper – you know, the adorable reindeer doctor who joined Luffy during the Drum Island arc? – is going to be brought to life with full CGI, and Mikaela Hoover, who was in Superman, is playing him! It makes total sense they needed a doctor on board, and Chopper was the perfect fit. He’s the sixth member to join the crew, and it’s awesome to see the Straw Hat Fleet really taking shape!
Monkey D. Dragon (Rigo Sanchez)

Just as the saying goes about inherited traits, Luffy’s father, Monkey D. Dragon, also has powers gained from a Devil Fruit. Dragon is Luffy’s biological father and leads the Revolutionary Army, and he’ll be introduced in the upcoming Loguetown Arc, which is part of Season 2.
One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Monkey D. Dragon is what powers he gained from eating a Devil Fruit – it’s generally believed he has one, but his abilities remain unknown. He first appears during the events of Loguetown, rescuing Luffy after he’s captured by Smoker.
Miss Goldenweek (Sophia Anne Caruso)

Miss Goldenweek is a character in One Piece Season 2 whose abilities are currently unknown. She’s part of the Baroque Works organization and works with Mr. 3. If she doesn’t have special powers, she and Mr. 3 would be the only two members of Baroque Works who haven’t eaten a Devil Fruit.
Many fans believe the character developed her talent for art by eating a Devil Fruit, as she’s portrayed as a gifted painter in both the anime and manga. We first meet Miss Goldenweek during the Little Garden Arc, where she opposes the Straw Hat crew while they’re protecting Princess Vivi.
Mr. 5 (Camrus Johnson)

Mr. 5, a tall and slender agent of Baroque Works, is one of the villains the Straw Hat crew faces during the second season of the series. He teams up with Miss Valentine to hunt down Luffy and his friends, who are trying to protect Princess Vivi.
Mr. 5 ate the Bomb Bomb Fruit, giving him the ability to create explosions from any part of his body. As a result, he’s immune to all explosions, making him a formidable opponent in battle. Actor Camrus Johnson, known for his role in the Batwoman TV series, will play this character in the live-action One Piece adaptation.
Miss Valentine (Jazzara Jaslyn)

I’ve learned about Miss Valentine, also known as Mikita, and she’s a really interesting agent of Baroque Works. What’s amazing is she ate a Devil Fruit that lets her control her weight instantly! Seriously, she can go from being incredibly light to unbelievably heavy – I’ve heard she can even weigh as much as the massive whale, Laboon. It’s a pretty wild ability!
During the Whiskey Peak and Little Garden arcs, she teams up with Mr. 5 to try and stop the Straw Hat Pirates. Like her fellow Baroque Works members, her goal is to capture the Straw Hats and their hidden passenger, Princess Vivi, and bring them to justice.
Mr. 3 (David Dastmalchian)

Mr. 3 has the unique ability to control and create candle wax, making him like a human candle. While it might sound strange, this power is surprisingly versatile. He can use wax to make things like tiny bullets or even immobilize his opponents.
I first noticed Mr. 3 during the Little Garden arc – he was one of Crocodile’s Baroque Works agents, sent to take down the Straw Hats. Honestly, he really stood out, and I was immediately intrigued!
Smoker (Callum Kerr)

Smoker, a long-time villain from the One Piece manga, will appear in the second season of the popular Netflix live-action series. He was briefly teased at the end of Season 1, and fans have been waiting for his full debut ever since. Smoker has been a recurring antagonist in the One Piece story for hundreds of chapters.
Smoker, a tough Marine known for his cigar, isn’t just intimidating – he has unique abilities thanks to the Smoke-Smoke Fruit. This allows him to turn into smoke and even control how thick or solid it is. Smoker is a thrilling new character in One Piece Season 2, voiced by Scottish actor Callum Kerr.
Wapol (Rob Colletti)

Wapol is one of the enemies the Straw Hats will face in Season 2. He’s easily recognizable with his purple, spiky hair and metal-like face. Wapol’s special ability, gained from the “Munch-Munch” Devil Fruit, lets him stretch his mouth to incredible sizes and even transform into things he’s eaten.
This character is the main villain of the Drum Island arc. He owns a toy company and rules as king of Drum Island, a land covered in ice and snow.
Dalton (Ty Keogh)

Dalton, a tough ex-royal guard, used to stand with Wapol in Drum Island’s throne room. He later joins forces with the Straw Hat Pirates, becoming a valuable helper as they battle across the snowy island.
Dalton has a Devil Fruit power that lets him turn into a bison at will. This transformation makes him much stronger and incredibly fast.
Mr. 0 / Crocodile (Joe Manganiello)

In Season 2 of One Piece, Joe Manganiello voices Mr. 0, also known as Crocodile, the leader of the Baroque Works organization. As one of the powerful Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile has built a vast criminal network across the ocean, and the Straw Hat Pirates are determined to dismantle it.
Crocodile gained the ability to create, control, and become sand after consuming the Sand-Sand Fruit. This makes him incredibly resilient – bullets and sword attacks aren’t enough to defeat him, as he can instantly rebuild his body.
Miss All-Sunday / Robin (Lera Abova)

Though first introduced as an antagonist, viewers can expect a shift towards heroism for Nico Robin, also known as Miss All-Sunday. She begins the story as a key member of Paroque Works during the Whiskey Peak arc, but later becomes the Straw Hat crew’s archaeologist.
Lera Abova will portray Miss All-Sunday, a character with the ability to create copies of her body parts, a power granted by a Devil Fruit.
