The bond between their friendships is strained when they discover one pair is planning to separate, causing a shift in the dynamics within the group.

The series consists of eight parts and includes Alan Alda, who was involved in the original movie as both writer and director, and made an appearance as a guest actor.

The cast is completed by Erika Henningsen, who played in Mean Girls on Broadway, as well as Julia Lester, Ashlyn Maddox, Jacob Buckenmyer, Taylor Ortega, and Simone Recasner. Additionally, Toby Edward Huss, Tommy Do, Chloe Troast, Jack Gore, and Cole Tristan Murphy are part of the cast in secondary roles.

Additionally, Fey takes on the role of executive producer for the series, while Domingo moves to the director’s chair to oversee the production of episode 6.

Regarding the series, Fey stated to Tudum, “Tracy, Lang, and I discussed how the show serves as a heartfelt ode to long-lasting relationships, be they platonic or romantic. Life is not only about the person you marry; it’s about much more than that.

At times, when you’re finding it tough to deal with a situation on your own with your partner, having a circle of friends who can inject some humor into it can be incredibly helpful.

The Four Seasons arrives on Netflix on May 1, 2025.
