As a devoted fan of crime fiction and Nordic Noir, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Detective Hole,” the upcoming Netflix series based on Jo Nesbø’s gripping novels. With its stellar cast and intricate plotline, this promises to be a rollercoaster ride that will keep me guessing until the very end.
The fresh Netflix series titled “Detective Hole,” inspired by Jo Nesbø’s crime novels, has revealed its impressive ensemble of actors.
In the upcoming series, we’ll trace the story of detective Harry Hole as he confronts his arch-nemesis, the crooked officer Tom Waaler. The plot thickens due to a mysterious serial killer adding to the chaos in the background.
After revealing Tobias Santelmann, Joel Kinnaman, and Pia Tjelta earlier, Netflix has now disclosed additional cast members for the series. These newcomers include Peter Stormare, Anders Baasmo Christiansen, Kåre Conradi, Simon Berger, Fridtjov Såheim, and Eili Harboe. They will all be part of the ensemble.

Furthermore, Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, Henriette Steenstrup, Jesper Christensen, Kristoffer Joner, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Linn Skåber, Jonas Strand Gravli, Sonny Lindberg, and Agnes Kittelsen are among the cast members for this project. More actors are expected to join the lineup soon.
The upcoming show is based on the works of acclaimed crime novelist Jo Nesbø and follows the gripping journey of anti-hero Harry Hole, a serial killer mystery investigator, who is known for his intricate whodunnits, with the series set to debut in 2026.
Beneath its exterior, this show delves into a complex tale of two police officers who find themselves on opposing legal grounds – one being Harry, who constantly clashes with his old foe and crooked cop, Tom Waaler, during the initial season.
“Harry is a gifted yet troubled homicide investigator, battling inner turmoil. In their shared pursuit, they tread on morally ambiguous ground within the criminal justice system. Harry must put forth every effort to apprehend a serial killer and ensure Waaler faces justice, before time runs out.”

Previously, the character Hole was portrayed on the silver screen by Michael Fassbender in “The Snowman,” a movie released in 2017 that also featured Rebecca Ferguson, JK Simmons, Val Kilmer, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Toby Jones.
In this film, directed by Tomas Alfredson, we follow a detective as he chases after an elusive serial killer in Oslo. A striking characteristic of these crimes is the presence of snowmen at the crime scenes, which serves as the culprit’s calling card.
Detective Hole airs on Netflix in 2026.
