A new drama series created by Steven Knight, the mind behind *Peaky Blinders*, is quickly becoming one of the most popular shows on Netflix.
I just finished watching *House of Guinness*, and it’s a really fascinating story! It follows what happened to the famous Guinness brewery after Sir Benjamin Guinness – the guy who really made it all happen – passed away. It’s interesting to see how the family and the business coped after losing him.
The show centers on Benjamin’s four grown children – Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Benjamin – as they cope with their father’s death and try to manage the family business.

The main four characters are joined by several others, such as Sean Rafferty, the foreman at Guinness played by James Norton, and Edward’s wife, Adelaide, played by Ann Skelly.
The new show, *House of Guinness*, has quickly become a hit, topping the charts in both Ireland and the UK since its release and receiving favorable feedback from viewers.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the eight-part drama is Certified Fresh with a rating of 87% out of 31 reviews.
Reviewers have naturally compared the new series to shows like *Peaky Blinders* and others featuring strong, yet troubled, families, but they’ve also pointed out what makes this series unique.
“House of Guinness is full of intense confrontations and unexpected complications — and anyone who enjoyed Peaky Blinders, or Succession, or The Gilded Age, should find House of Guinness very satisfying to watch,” NPR wrote in their review.
According to iNews.co.uk, comparing House of Guinness to other shows by the same creator was expected, but it ultimately stands out as a unique series.
It’s natural to compare this show to *Peaky Blinders*, but *House of Guinness* stands on its own as a compelling and well-made drama.
While Paste notes that the time jumps in the latter part of the show aren’t perfectly smooth, overall it’s so engaging that you easily overlook any flaws.
Despite some slow moments and confusing jumps in time during the later episodes, *House of Guinness* is a show that knows itself well, and generally succeeds because of it, according to a recent review.

Digital Spy gave House of Guinness five stars, enthusing that the series is “brewed to perfection”.
The show is visually stunning and incredibly immersive, creating a rich and captivating atmosphere. However, if you’ve seen director Steven Knight’s previous work – like *Peaky Blinders*, *SAS Rogue Heroes*, and *A Thousand Blows* – you’ll likely expect nothing less. We were so impressed that we’re already hoping for another season!
House of Guinness is streaming on Netflix.
