Netflix’s New Action Sci-Fi Hit Proves Alan Ritchson’s Perfect Reacher Follow-Up Is A $5.4 Billion Franchise

Netflix’s latest sci-fi action series shows that Alan Ritchson, following his success in Reacher, has the potential to headline a major, multi-billion dollar franchise.

Let me tell you, Alan Ritchson is becoming a huge name in Hollywood, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon, especially with the return of Reacher. He’s been popping up in quite a few movies lately, and while none have quite hit the same high note as Reacher, he’s got a really interesting slate of upcoming roles that I’m excited to see.

Alan Ritchson recently starred in a movie where he truly shined as an action hero and proved he can easily carry a complex science fiction story. Many viewers immediately thought he’d be a fantastic fit to lead a major franchise, potentially one worth over $5 billion.

After War Machine, Alan Ritchson Must Play Duke In A G.I. Joe Transformers Crossover

Alan Ritchson, known for his roles in Reacher and War Machine, has a classic 1980s action hero look. It’s no surprise people are comparing his performance in War Machine to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic role as Dutch in the 1987 film Predator. While that comparison is fitting, War Machine actually shares a lot of similarities with another popular action series when you look closely.

The main alien villain in the Netflix action movie strongly resembles a Decepticon – it even starts by camouflaging itself as an army base before attacking a group of soldiers.

Given Alan Ritchson’s experience playing a Ranger and his similar roles, it’s easy to imagine him as a G.I. Joe fighting off an alien invasion. Considering the connections between his work and the G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises, many fans believe he would be perfect as Duke in a potential live-action crossover between the two series.

Rumors have been circulating for a while about a live-action movie that would combine different franchises, and the ending of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hints at this possibility. There were also reports that Chris Hemsworth was being considered for a part in the film.

Alan Ritchson would be a great choice to play Duke in a potential live-action G.I. Joe movie. He’s proven he excels in action roles, especially with his impressive performance as Jack Reacher, and seems ideally suited to play the G.I. Joe field commander.

Hopefully, after Reacher, we will soon get to see him as the lead in another major action franchise.

Is The Live-Action G.I. Joe & Transformers Crossover Even Happening?

Despite initial hopes that a crossover movie between G.I. Joe and Transformers would expand the action franchise, its future is currently unclear. While there’s been a lot of talk and development behind the scenes, nothing has been officially confirmed.

We’ve already seen a fun comic book team-up and an animated movie is in the works! However, plans for a live-action crossover have been much less certain.

With each new Transformers movie making less money than the last, the planned crossover film may have been put on hold. If the next animated Transformers movie doesn’t do well in theaters, the crossover might not happen at all.

With the exciting conclusion of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, fans are hoping for a movie that combines the worlds of G.I. Joe and Transformers. If that happens, many would love to see Alan Ritchson join the cast as a G.I. Joe character, building on his strong performances in Reacher and War Machine on Netflix.
