Netflix’s “most confusing game show” gets renewed for another season – and fans are divided

Netflix has renewed the gameshow Million Dollar Secret.

The reality TV competition, which is hosted by actor Peter Serafinowicz known for his roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Shaun of the Dead”, debuted in March.

The series centers around twelve participants aiming to discover which one of them has previously been awarded a million dollars in secret. Daily challenges and group votes for elimination take place, and whoever uncovers the millionaire will themselves become wealthy.

The show often drew comparisons with “The Traitors” and the reality series “The Mole,” which was rebooted by Netflix for two seasons in 2022 and 2024, respectively.

There’s a mix of opinions among viewers regarding the revival of “Million Dollar Secret“. One spectator described it as “the most perplexing game show I’ve ever encountered,” while another expressed their confusion, stating, “I’m not sure if it makes sense.

The person said it didn’t suit their needs, further explaining that it seemed like they were improvising the guidelines as they progressed.

One spectator praised the performance, labeling it “outstanding,” but expressed disappointment about the conclusion where the boxes were swapped, finding it “overly clear.” They suggested that a more challenging final hurdle was needed.

Many enthusiasts expressed their eagerness over the announcement of another season, as one of them put it: “I absolutely suggest giving it a try.
