Netflix’s Honour cast: where you’ve watched them before

As a huge fan of British television, I’ve had the pleasure of discovering some truly exceptional actors through various shows over the years. Among them is this incredible ensemble from the gripping two-part true crime drama “Honour,” now streaming on Netflix.

ITV’s gripping true-crime drama “Honour” is now available on Netflix and has quickly become a popular choice among viewers. This chilling two-part series tells the tragic story of Banaz Mahmod, a 20-year-old British Muslim woman who was brutally murdered in 2006 as a result of an “honor” killing.

In this heart-wrenching tale, the acting was essential and captivating. For those intrigued by the performers who brought this tragedy to life, here’s where you can learn more.

Here’s where you’ve seen the cast of Honour before.

Buket Kömür as Banaz Mahmod

I’ve recently discovered the captivating talent that is Buket Kömür. Her acting journey began anonymously in the 2019 music documentary “Roger Waters – Us + Them,” where she graced the screen as an unnamed character. Since then, she has made a name for herself by starring as Wendy in the thrilling TV series “Our House” and bringing Sara to life in the 2024 film “Layla.” Sharing the silver screen with acting powerhouses Bilal Hasna from “3 Body Problem” and “Extraordinary,” Buket’s performances continue to leave a lasting impression on me.

Keeley Hawes as DCI Caroline Goode

Keeley Hawes is most famously recognized for her part as detective Lindsay in “Line of Duty.” However, her body of work goes beyond this role. Her devoted fans have seen her act brilliantly in “It’s a Sin,” portraying the compassionate and intricate character of Ritchie Tozer’s (Olly Alexander) mother Valerie. Additionally, she brought the period drama “The Durrells” to life by embodying the role of Louisa Durrell.

Lately, she appeared in the Netflix biographical drama “Scoop.” In this production, she portrayed Amanda Thirsk, Prince Andrew’s private secretary, working alongside Billie Piper and Gillian Anderson.

Mark Stanley as DS Andy Craig

Mark Stanley breathed life into DI Youngblood in the intense thriller series “Trigger Point.” His complex and heartfelt romance with Lana, portrayed by Vicky McClure from “Line of Duty,” added a layer of emotional relief to the high-stress situation.

I’ve had some interesting roles in various shows. In “Happy Valley,” I played Rob Hepworth, a real pain in the neck. Over on “The Bay,” I was cast as Warren Pryce, and most recently, I got to portray Henry VIII in the mini-series “Anne Boleyn” alongside Jodie Turner-Smith.

Rhianne Barreto as Bekhal Mahmod

Supporters of the witty crime-comedy series “The Outlaws” will be familiar with Rhianne Barreto, who portrayed Rani. In this production, she teamed up with Jessica Gunning from “Baby Reindeer.” The program focused on seven individuals serving community service in Bristol under unusual circumstances. Additionally, Barreto graced the screen as Scarlett in the comedy “Dixi.”

Outside of that Barreto was cast in The Talent, led by House of the Dragon’s Emma D’Arcy.

Alexa Davies as Keily Jones

Alexa Davies, who was quite different from her serious role in “Honour,” shone in the lively musical film “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” (released in 2018). She portrayed a younger version of Julie Walters’ character, Rosie. More recently, Davies appeared in the fantasy comedy TV series “Dead Pixels” (premiered in 2021), playing the character Meg. Most recently, she starred as Audrey Hemmings in the thriller series “Cobra,” which concluded its run in 2023 after three seasons.

Michael Jibson as DS Stuart Reeves

I’m a big fan of Michael Jibson, an alumnus from Cobra who has made it big in the industry. Just like my fellow cast mate Alexa Davies, we were both given the opportunity to work together in that project. However, Michael rose to prominence for his role as Matthew Evansford in the captivating mystery drama, The Essex Serpent, starring Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes. You’ll also find him gracing your screens in the epic war film 1917, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and the thought-provoking crime series Bodies.

Moe Bar-El as Rahmat Sulemani

Dune: Part Two, The Bureau and Better are a few of the shows where you may recognise Moe Bar-El from, however you will likely also know him as Reece from the futuristic mystery show The Peripheral, fronted by Kick Ass‘ Chloë Grace Moretz. The Honour star was also in the Apple TV+ crime drama Tehran.

Umit Ulgen as Mahmod Mahmod

If you enjoy the murder mysteries on “Death in Paradise,” then you might have come across Robert Thorogood’s new show, “The Marlow Murder Club.” In that case, you may have recognized Umit Ulgen. Ulgen portrayed Iqbal Kassam in both productions. Outside of these shows, Ulgen has appeared in other popular roles, such as Sol Rama in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange,” and King Saladin in “Ancient Black Ops.”

Selva Rasalingam as Ari Mahmod

I’ve been really impressed with Selva Rasalingam’s acting abilities. He made a striking appearance as the prime minister in that time-travel Netflix show before transitioning to the role of Harley in Disney+ fantasy series “Renegade Nell.” Prior to those roles, Rasalingam brought Jesus to life in the religious drama film “The Gospel of John.”

Waj Ali as Mohamad Hama

In Apple TV+’s intense show “Hijack,” you might have recognized Waj Ali, but if not, you may know him as Constable Berwick from Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series “Carnival Row.” This program, which also featured Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, is set in a Victorian world that was disrupted by a series of murders and encounters with a fearsome monster.

The two-part true crime drama Honour is available to stream now on Netflix.
