The critically-acclaimed police drama featuring Matthew Goode and Chloe Pirrie, known as “Dept. Q,” is set to return for its second installment.
In this Netflix show, detective inspector Carl Morck (portrayed by Goode) heads up the cold case unit within the Edinburgh police department. This series focuses on his investigation into the mysterious vanishing of lawyer Merritt Lingard (character played by Pirrie).
Following an incredibly satisfying first gaming season back in May, I’m thrilled to announce that we’re gearing up for a sequel! Our streamer has confirmed the good news, and the next chapter will be inspired by yet another captivating novel from Jussi Adler-Olsen’s series. Can’t wait to dive back into this gripping world!

“Mona Qureshi and Manda Levin from Netflix are thrilled to rejoin Carl Morck and his motley crew at Dept. Q again. We’re eagerly anticipating what more secrets Morck and the team will unravel in Season 2… Edinburgh, we’ll be back!”

Rob Bullock, the executive producer, mentioned that we will be visiting Dept. Q again, this time for its second season. Left Bank Pictures is eagerly anticipating what Scott has planned for his character Carl Morck and the rest of the quirky team.
In the upcoming production, Goode will once again play Morck, joined by returning cast members Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne, and Jamie Sives. Similar to the original, filming will occur in Edinburgh, although a specific release date has not been determined as of now.
