Netflix’s “fast-paced” British action spy thriller confirms its lead star in exciting announcement

Netflix announced that Damson Idris, known for his role in Snowfall, will star in its new six-episode action-spy series, The Lords’ Day. He’ll play a talented British secret agent.

The story starts during the State Opening of Parliament when a security scare forces the building into lockdown. Harry Jones, played by Idris Elba, is caught inside with the country’s top leaders as chaos erupts.

The situation is getting worse, and people’s allegiances will be challenged as they make huge sacrifices. It’s a desperate struggle to survive, and not everyone will make it. The story asks: can Harry use everything he’s learned to save the nation?

The Lords’ Day is based on the 2007 novel by Michael Dobbs, who also wrote House of Cards. It’s being described as a quick-moving and exciting thriller taking place within the British government.

Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent wrote the series and will also serve as executive producers. Joining them in executive production are Idris, Jane Tranter, Dan McCulloch, and the series’ director, Ben Chanan.

Filming is scheduled to start in the UK later this year, and the rest of the cast will be revealed soon. We don’t have a confirmed release date yet.

I just finished watching F1: The Movie, and it was pretty cool! Idris Elba was in it alongside Brad Pitt. He played this new driver, Joshua Pearce, and Brad Pitt was his mentor, a retired racer named Sonny Hayes. It’s a really solid movie, and I can see why it got an Oscar nomination!

Joseph Kosinski’s F1 has received a critics’ score of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 366 reviews. Despite this, Digital Spy gave the film a two-star rating, calling it essentially a lengthy advertisement for Formula 1.

Our review of F1: The Movie calls it a visually impressive but ultimately hollow experience. While the racing scenes are skillfully made, it’s difficult to get caught up in the story because the characters aren’t compelling. The film delivers exciting moments, but they don’t quite connect with the viewer.
