The highly debated crime drama series on Netflix, famously known as “Monster,” is undergoing a significant overhaul ahead of its fourth season.
This anthology series, produced by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, delves into the lives of societal outcasts, particularly those labeled as “monstrous.” Each season explores a distinct true crime incident involving homicide.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming seasons of my favorite show! The third one, named The Original Monster, is due out later this year, and even before it premieres, work has already begun on its successor. Netflix (through Tudum) has officially announced that Ella Beatty will be stepping into the lead role for season four. Can’t wait to see what unfolds!
In this rendition, Beatty is set to play the role of Lizzie Borden, a historical character infamous for being accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in 1892. Previously working alongside Murphy during the second season of “Feud”, Beatty will be joined on set by Vicky Krieps and Rebecca Hall.
The filming will start towards the end of this year, with Max Winkler taking charge as the director for the initial episode of the new season. As for the characters played by Krieps and Hall, their specific roles have not been revealed yet. Also, it’s unclear how many episodes will be produced during this season.

In 2022, the show made its debut, starting with “The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” where Evan Peters portrayed the infamous serial killer. The following year, 2024, saw a second season air, delving into the story of Lyle and Erik Menendez.
Regardless of earning numerous Primetime Emmy nominations, the show has sparked varied opinions among critics and audiences alike, often stirring debates over its thematic content and portrayal of incidents in each season.

Regarding the second season, Erik Menendez asserted that the show was misleading and damaging in its representation, suggesting it relied on falsehoods. Murphy countered with a statement, expressing that as storytellers, he and his team felt it was their duty to explore various “theories” presented in the case.
First, Laurie Metcalf, Tom Hollander, Addison Rae, and Danielle Campbell will join Charlie Hunnam, who plays Ed Gein, in the movie “The Original Monster.” Later on, Lizzie will be portrayed by Beatty after Hunnam’s initial appearance as Gein.
Monster streams on Netflix.
