Over 300 passengers traveling by shinkansen become terrified when they discover a bomb is aboard their train. However, midway through the journey, a remarkable rescue operation takes place, leaving only nine individuals – including all previously mentioned characters – still on the train.

With news that the authorities could prevent the train from heading towards Tokyo and potentially causing widespread destruction, Yuzuki decides to step aside to privately contact her father, keeping herself separate from the crowd.

It seems a bit suspicious, doesn’t it? When Yuzuki abruptly tells her father she’s on the train and she’s okay, he gets quite agitated. However, he starts contemplating that whoever placed the bomb might be the same person responsible for the initial 1975 attack, as portrayed in “The Bullet Train“.

At the moment of the incident, Yuzuki’s father was there, leading him to believe that the entire spectacle could have been a form of retaliation, stemming from his involvement in preventing the initial train from blowing up.

Yuzuki dismisses the situation jokingly, commenting that an old guy like him stands no chance against the latest bomb-maker, and that’s because she is the one behind the explosions. Indeed, this seemingly ordinary schoolgirl was the mastermind behind the bombings, and her motive could leave you in awe.

For years, your boasts about executing the bomber left me contemplating self-harm. As a result, I chose an alternative action and planted explosives instead.

It seems that the initial suspect intentionally detonated himself to preserve his dignity and avoid imprisonment. However, Yuzuki’s father, who was a police officer back then, claimed responsibility for the shot that neutralized the threat, when in fact it was his bullet. In reality, he took credit for the action.

Upset by her boldness, Yuzuki’s father swears he will never pardon her disrespectful behavior. However, it is he who creates a larger problem when Yuzuki ends the call and sets off a bomb she had secretly placed in their living room.

Following her father’s demise and the discovery of his fragmented remains, Yuzuki appears to be more joyful than ever. A wild celebration seems to be unfolding within her mind, reflected by the broad grin spreading slowly across her face.

After settling that matter, Yuzuki makes a call to headquarters in the presence of everyone else, assuring them that she’ll explain the procedure for disarming the explosives – similar to the one she recently employed to eliminate her father.

It was discovered that the bombs will disarm automatically if one of these passengers were to die in close proximity to Yuzuki. Yes, you heard it right. Due to a long-standing health condition she’s had since childhood, Yuzuki carries a heart monitor implant. When she passes away, an app connected to this monitor will transmit a signal that deactivates the bombs.

After she hangs up, the other remaining passengers are understandably shocked to their core.

As they ponder their next steps, the railway firm presses ahead with a fresh strategy to ensure the train continues beyond Tokyo, buying them additional time in the process. Simultaneously, they verify that Yuzuki’s father was wrongly framed as the bomber’s killer; instead, those in high positions had manipulated the situation to portray him heroically for public appearances.

While Yuzuki’s teacher attempts to touch upon her student’s more virtuous side, a sudden burst of erratic behavior emerges. She clutches the teacher’s wrists tightly, implying that she had been aware of Yuzuki’s instability all along.

It’s not solely someone else’s blame here… People often deceive themselves as well… I made a choice to dispel that naive belief and find out just how much deceit could permeate everyone… I yearned for authenticity, for people to be genuine for once and stop playing their roles.

As this situation unfolds, investigators uncover that Yuzuki acquired the bombs from an older man she met online who deals with explosives at his job. They swiftly locate him in Saitama for interrogation, during which he discloses that Yuzuki’s father allegedly abused her – a claim she made to him.

It’s even more surprising, however, when you learn that this man’s father was, in fact, the initial bomber from 1975. Sounds implausible? Certainly. But it adds a juicy twist for fans of the original film.

The unexpected revelation is that this fellow’s dad was the original bomber back in 1975. Implausible? You bet. But it makes for an entertaining and thrilling turn of events for enthusiasts of the first movie.

Additionally, he clarifies further details about Yuzuki’s objective, revealing that her attack on the shinkansen was symbolic as it represented the animosity she harbors towards her father. This man, who was contemptible for his deceitful nature, had instilled in her a deep-seated hatred.

On the train once more, kind-hearted Takaichi pleads fervently for the life of his junior coworker, teetering on the brink of death due to injuries from their last rescue mission.

Yuzuki begs for mercy, asking me to end it all. But Takaichi, swearing he’d never harm a soul, surprisingly does just that – eliminating Yuzuki from the game.

Yuzuki is incredibly enthusiastic, removing her choker in preparation for a role-playing scenario, but Takaichi can’t follow through, leading both of them to cry.

As a devoted admirer, I’m excited about the innovative strategy being implemented by the train company. Instead of one separation, they’re strategically uncoupling the train twice, swiftly manipulating the switches at a moment’s notice. This tactic aims to detach the middle carriage to a safer location, while the remaining part of the train, under controlled circumstances, will experience an explosion in a less densely populated area for maximum safety and minimal impact.

All individuals vacated the train carriages, preparing themselves for rough turbulence ahead. They were aware that the journey would be extremely choppy. Not even the train conductor remained untouched; she emerged, expressing regret for the situation, almost as though she was responsible.

After the plan is set into motion, everything works out perfectly. At the precise instant required, the switches are activated, causing most of the train to detonate safely away from bystanders. Remarkably, all nine passengers manage to survive. Their carriage rolls to one side before coming to a grinding halt.

The emergency response crew swiftly arrived, and everyone connected with the railway corporation broke into applause before promptly resuming their duties – such is the routine of this rail company. Their dedication ensures that every train in Japan consistently runs on schedule, a stark contrast to the UK where trains frequently run late.

One authority figure is making an effort to empathize with Yuzuki, expressing that the bomb expert exploited her animosity.

She answers, “Does adopting such thoughts bring you comfort?”, but Yuzuki dismisses it as yet another instance of a facade of “ordinary life” she calls “the illusion of normality”.

However, what follows next takes Yuzuki by surprise, as the man discloses that indeed, everyone had contributed to the unreasonable ransom she demanded. This act of unity serves as proof that humanity might not be as wretched as she initially believed. With a hint of satisfaction, he remarks, “I wouldn’t exactly call the world utterly forsaken…” as Yuzuki is escorted away.

After the catastrophic explosion on the Bullet Train, as every chaotic day ought to conclude, finds them at a McDonald’s – a promise they made to each other prior to the mayhem. Indeed, they’ve more than deserved this respite.
