Netflix’s Squid Game has set a huge new record after it returned for its third season.
In just 10 days following its release on June 27th, the third season of the dystopian Korean drama has amassed an astounding 106.3 million views.
According to Variety, the show garnered a higher number of viewers during that timeframe than any other Netflix series, regardless of language.
In a short span of 10 days, it has ranked second only to seasons 1 and 2 of Squid Game among non-English Netflix series in terms of total viewers, globally.
Additionally, it garners a higher number of views compared to the first season of ‘Wednesday’, which currently holds the title as the most-watched English series on this streaming platform.

Regardless of an unexpected appearance from a famous figure, many viewers expressed disappointment and lackluster reactions towards the conclusion of Squid Game’s third season, with several criticizing the number of unresolved plot points.
In essence, Digital Spy contends that the series Squid Game carries an inherently political message, and staying true to this, the ending maintains its authenticity, even though it leaves a sense of melancholy or grimness.
Although the highly acclaimed primary series has indeed concluded, its creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has hinted at having plans for possible continuations in a different format.

As I was chatting with Entertainment Weekly not too long ago, I admitted that a tiny seed of an idea for a spin-off had crossed my mind.
He mentioned that it wouldn’t be a continuation (sequel), but rather an exploration (spin-off) focusing on the time period of approximately three years, during which Gi-hun searches for the recruiters between season 1 and season 2.
Squid Game seasons 1-3 are now streaming on Netflix.
