Netflix’s Biggest Heartthrob Is Officially Back In Your Next Big K-Drama Obsession

Spring 2026 is shaping up to be a great season for romantic K-dramas, with shows like Perfect Crown, Filing for Love, My Royal Nemesis, and Yumi’s Cells 3 already gaining attention. While Perfect Crown, starring IU and Byeon Woo-seok, is very popular on Disney+, Netflix is also releasing a new hit romance featuring one of K-drama’s most beloved leading men.

I’m still completely obsessed with Business Proposal even after all this time – it was such a huge hit for Netflix worldwide, and really helped launch the careers of the actors! Now, Ahn Hyo-seop, one of the stars, is back with another sweet rom-com on Netflix called Sold Out on You, and honestly, it feels like the perfect follow-up to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. K-drama fans have been hoping for something just like this!

Ahn-Hyo-Seop’s New Netflix Rom-Com Is About to Dethrone Business Proposal

The new romantic comedy Sold Out on You, which premiered on Netflix on April 22, 2026, is already proving popular. It stars Cha Won-bin, Kim Bum, and, excitingly, Ahn Hyo-seop, who returns to lead a romance for the first time since his role in the 2023 thriller A Time Called You.

Unlike his popular role as a charming heir in Business Proposal, Ahn Hyo-seop now plays a down-to-earth researcher who becomes a farmer. Despite the change, he’s still captivating audiences and perhaps even more so than before.

The show centers around Dam Ye-jin, a popular shopping network host, who needs to secure a deal with a major beauty brand. To do so, she travels to the countryside to negotiate with the brand’s supplier, where she meets Matthew Lee, the farm’s direct and somewhat prickly owner, portrayed by Ahn Hyo-seop.

Ye-jin and Matthew Lee get off to a rocky start, and their negotiations quickly fall apart. However, Ye-jin is incredibly determined and won’t give up easily, even if it means resorting to extreme measures to get Matthew back to the table. Their interactions become a relentless pursuit, with Ye-jin willing to do almost anything – short of a restraining order – to close the deal.

Matthew Lee starts off a little rough around the edges, but he quickly becomes lovable and charming, particularly as he gets to know Ye-jin. Just like in Business Proposal, Ahn Hyo-seop delivers a captivating performance in Sold Out on You, leaving viewers charmed by both him and his fantastic connection with Chae Won-bin.

Netflix Has Found Its New Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha in Sold Out on You

Ahn Hyo-seop plays Mechoori, the village’s fix-it guy – a bit like Hong Du-sik from Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, but more reserved and less openly friendly. However, it quickly becomes clear that Matthew Lee is a genuinely kind person who secretly cares about those around him, even when they bother him. This also turns out to be true for the show’s lead, Ye-jin, even though they don’t initially get along.

Besides the lead actor, Ahn Hyo-seop, the story and romance in Sold Out on You strongly resemble those in the popular K-drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, alongside Business Proposal. Similar to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Sold Out on You features a main character who moves to the countryside and meets a charming, but somewhat mysterious, handyman. They initially clash, but predictably, their bickering turns into a friendship and then a romance.

Similar to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Sold Out on You boasts a charming group of supporting characters, including the lovable people of Deokpunk Village, from the sweet grandmothers to the playful children. While Sold Out on You doesn’t delve as deeply into the backstories of these side characters as Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha did, it compensates with a wonderfully eccentric and memorable supporting cast.

Okay, let me tell you, if you’re looking for a new show to dive into, now is the moment for Sold Out on You. I’m eight episodes in, and honestly, it’s hitting all the right emotional beats. Be warned though – the cliffhangers are seriously stressful! But don’t worry, we’re only four episodes away from the end. With two new episodes dropping this Wednesday and Thursday, I think this week is the perfect time to binge-watch everything and be ready for what sounds like a really satisfying finale next week.
