I’m so excited! Netflix just announced that Season 2 of Beef is coming out on April 16, 2026! They shared the news with updates on other shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Bridgerton. This season will have eight episodes, each about 30 minutes long – a bit shorter than the first season which had ten. It’s been over three years since we first saw Steven Yeun and Ali Wong in Season 1, so I’m really curious to see what they’ve come up with and how this new season will be after such a long wait!
The first season of Beef followed two strangers whose lives became dangerously intertwined after a simple road rage incident. The show was captivating because of how quickly things escalated from that initial spark, combined with the actors’ amazing performances. Now, Netflix has revealed what the second season will be about and introduced the new characters who will be central to the story.
Season 2 of Beef features Charles Melton (known from May December) and Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus) as a young couple who see their boss and his wife arguing. Oscar Isaac (Dune) plays the boss, Josh, and Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman) plays his wife, Lindsay. The supporting cast includes Youn Yuh-jung (Minari) as Chairwoman Park, Song Kang-ho (Parasite) as Dr. Kim, Seoyeon Jang (Butterfly) as Eunice, William Fichtner (Mom) as Troy, Mikaela Hoover (Superman) as Ava, and musician BM as Woosh.
This season’s drama begins when a young couple accidentally sees their boss in a heated argument with his wife. This sets off a chain of manipulative actions and backroom deals within the exclusive environment of a country club, all controlled by its wealthy Korean owner.
‘Beef’ Season 2 Will Maintain the Same Creative Team From Season 1

Netflix
While Steven Yeun and Ali Wong may not reprise their roles, they will still be involved as executive producers on the show. They’ll be joining Jake Schreier, Kitao Sakurai, Ethan Kuperberg, and Anna Moench in that capacity. Schreier, who directed multiple episodes of the first season, may or may not direct any of the upcoming eight episodes. He’s been busy with other projects, including directing Thunderbolts* slated for 2025 and developing a new X-Men movie for Marvel Studios, making his availability uncertain.

The second season is being developed by the original creator and showrunner, Lee Sung Jin, ensuring the show stays true to its vision even with new directors. A24 is still involved as a production partner, which adds to the show’s quality and should attract viewers. With the premiere just months away, expect to see more marketing, including new photos and likely a first trailer, very soon. Netflix has a strong year planned, with new seasons of popular shows like Beef and a variety of original movies to keep subscribers entertained.
