Derived from the extended Capcom game franchise, “Devil May Cry” is an animated production by Adi Shankar, known for Netflix’s “Castlevania” series. The story centers around a young devil slayer named Dante, who often dons a red trench coat, carries an enormous sword, and dual pistols called Ebony and Ivory. Beyond being human-devil hybrid, Dante possesses unique abilities that make him superior to the inhabitants of hell. When Dante arrives, either the denizens of darkness scatter in terror or they meet a grisly end, reduced to pieces.

If it seems a bit absurd, that’s the point; the Devil May Cry games revolve around Dante, a character who slashes devils with flair and panache, all while preserving humanity from diverse supernatural perils.
