Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer are filming scenes for the new Netflix version of the popular rom-com 13 Going on 30. Emily Bader, known for People We Meet On Vacation, is playing the main character. The original movie, released in 2004, is about a clumsy teen who suddenly finds herself as a 30-year-old fashion editor, experiencing what adult life might be like.
Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer are working together on a new movie, a remake of the popular rom-com. They previously starred together in the original film and recently appeared in the TV series The Five-Star Weekend. While they’ve been seen on set with another actress, it’s currently unknown if they’ll be playing their same characters from 13 Going on 30 or how big their roles will be in the new story.
Brett Haley, known for directing People We Meet On Vacation, is at the helm of this new take on 13 Going on 30. Hannah Marks wrote the script, and Jennifer Garner also serves as an executive producer alongside co-star Logan Lerman.
Haley, discussing his work on the next installment of the popular film, stated he’d handle the project “with tremendous responsibility.”
The movie 13 Going on 30 is a truly special film – it’s funny, touching, and feels very real, thanks to amazing performances by Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer. As a longtime admirer of the original, I feel a lot of pressure to do it justice with this new version,” the director explained.
As a fan of the original, it’s really awesome to hear Jennifer Garner’s involved as an executive producer. She was the show back then, so having her help shape this new one means a lot – it feels like they’re really honoring what made it special in the first place.
