Netflix UK drops all 5 episodes of “haunting” thriller and it’s landed straight in the trending chart

The recently released Netflix thriller series titled “Baby Farm” is rapidly gaining popularity, ranking sixth on the UK’s streaming charts at the moment.

As an ardent admirer, I’m sharing my thoughts on a captivating Nigerian series that unfolds in five gripping episodes. The narrative revolves around a character named Adanna, skillfully portrayed by Onyinye Odokoro, who finds herself in a dire situation – pregnant and homeless, navigating the bustling streets of Lagos.

When an charitable organization provides her with unanticipated aid during her pregnancy, including emotional and physical care, she believes she’s under capable care.

Before long, I come to understand that my infant is being taken from me for an illicit baby farm – a horrid place where newborns are sold clandestinely on the black market for adoptions.

In addition to Odokoro, the cast also includes Rita Dominic, Joseph Benjamin, Genoveva Umeh, Langley Kirkwood, and Jenny Stead.

Launched in April, the film titled “Baby Farm” is recognized as a chilling and suspenseful thriller that reflects an eerily real horror (according to Black Film Wire)).

This show will leave you feeling dazed, similar to “The Handmaid’s Tale,” but with a true-to-life element that makes it both maddeningly frustrating and essential viewing.

Over the last few years, Nigerian authorities have conducted raids on facilities allegedly operating as “baby factories.” These establishments continue to be a concern due to ongoing issues of human and infant trafficking, according to local news sources.

Moving on to the Netflix show titled “Baby Farm,” it’s worth noting that this series is the brainchild of Mo Abudu and penned by Darrel Bristow-Bovey. It belongs to the growing list of female-led productions from African studios which Netflix has been broadcasting lately.

Alongside “Baby Farm,” Netflix obtained the rights for two other productions: the historical epic series “House of Ga’a” and the poignant drama “Postcards.” These shows made their debut on Netflix last year.

Baby Farm is streaming on Netflix.
