Netflix has announced it will be turning the popular 2024 novel, The God of the Woods, into a new television series.
Liz Moore, the author of the popular mystery thriller, is partnering with Liz Hannah to create a Netflix series based on the book. Both will serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Hannah is a well-known writer with a WGA Award nomination for her work on Mindhunter, and she’s also contributed to the shows The Dropout, Lee, and The Girl from Plainville as an executive producer and writer.
The God of the Woods tells the multi-generational story of the Van Laar family in the Adirondacks, revealing their hidden secrets and struggles. The novel explores how a past family tragedy might be linked to the recent disappearance of teenager Barbara Van Laar from their summer camp.
