I was really excited to see Alan Ritchson, who I loved as Reacher, post some behind-the-scenes photos from his new movie, War Machine, on Instagram! They give you a good peek at the action and how the characters play off each other. It’s a sci-fi action adventure coming to Netflix next month, and the cast is stacked – alongside Ritchson, you’ve got Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, and a bunch of other great actors like Esai Morales and Keiynan Lonsdale. I can’t wait to check it out!
Alan Ritchson reveals first photos for Netflix’s War Machine
Alan Ritchson gave fans their first glimpse of his character, War Machine, with some new photos on Instagram. He also hinted that the trailer is coming very soon.
Mike Ritchson shared a first glimpse of his character, War Machine, and promised the trailer will be released shortly, calling it ‘a doozy.’
Alan Ritchson, who plays a soldier in the movie, looks tough in newly released photos. One photo shows his character covered in mud and looking confused after leaving a military vehicle. The other photo features the 43-year-old actor with a beard, looking at his co-star Jai Courtney, who is gazing off to the side.
In the third picture, Ritchson’s character is shown with his unit preparing for an attack. He’s covering the mouth of another soldier with his right hand.
In the fourth photo, Ritchson’s character and fellow soldiers are shown running with a casket carrying a fallen comrade, apparently trying to escape explosions. The fifth picture captures a strained conversation between Ritchson and Dennis Quaid’s characters, with Esai Morales looking on.
The sixth image depicts Ritchson and fellow soldiers working out with pull-ups. The seventh shows Stephan James’ character getting ready for battle, and the eighth features Ritchson’s character suspended from a rope.
The final image depicts Ritchson’s character helping a fellow soldier, set against a beautiful backdrop of hills bathed in sunlight.
The movie War Machine will premiere on Netflix on March 6, 2026. Last year, actor Ritchson hinted in an interview with WIRED that it’s Netflix’s most ambitious film yet, calling it “a monster” and saying it’s “the coolest thing they’ve ever made.”
Patrick Hughes directed and co-wrote the screenplay for the movie with James Beaufort. He also produced it alongside Todd Lieberman and Alex Young.
